Set the records straight for me....is the 5600xt really faster than vega64?

So as per the title I want a smaller card which bangs out a bit less heat than my 56@64

Is the 5600xt really a quicker card, particularly at 1440p as have a 32" freesync 75hz panel.

Seen several interesting reviews but wondered if anyone done this move at all on here?

The temptation to move to 5600 and wait for new cards is pretty big right now if I am not losing lots of grunt

Ta.

got a 64 myself .. but no way i'd fork out for a 5600 for just 3-4 months by the time the new ones come out you have lost half of what it's worth ..

Probably right, just have an itch to scratch on doing stuff to the pc at present, most likely best to sit on my hands in fairness

yeah, with rpices how they are, new gear coming out... personally hold fire mate unless you have deep pockets in whcih case fill boots lol

Best time of night to "accidently" buy stuff whilst the other half is asleep :D

Be interesting to see what happens with second hand prices at end of next month or so, Birthday too so, you know, treat's are allowed lol

I don't like this 5600xt it was designed to run at 12 memory and now has 14 with bios updates
that tells me thermally and lifespan wise they were not comfortable with 14 memory on these cards so released them as 12's

Almost bought a 5600xt today myself but I think the wiser choice is to stick with what you got for now and see how things pan out i'm not comfortable paying £270 for 30-40 fps 1080p in red dead 2

Something that could max it at 1080p and give me 60-70 fps + and I am interested at the right price

the 12-14 thing definitely put me off the 5600xt i'd rather the 12 mem and a cheaper price then at amd

tbh i would say the vega 64 is an almost identical performer

i've got both a 5700 and a 56/64 and tbh theres nothing in it between the 2 of them maybe a few frames here and there

Thanks very much all, especially @C64 for the insight into the 5600xt and @233 for the comparison of 5700 to Vega as that was another thought as the mech oc is available sub £300 atm.

I guess I want to be looking at a used 2070 / 1080ti or 5700xt to actually see some kind of sensible gains

Of course my card will drop on price but that's just the breaks to be honest.
