Hiring Model Painters?

Not sure where to post this, was debating the home section.

Reading through the Lego thread got me thinking, I have an old Millenium Falcon (Original Kenner Toy) from the eighties. I want to restore and looking for a professional model painter who can give it a lick of paint as its horribly yellowed. I tried spray painting in the past and my efforts were awful.

It's an old beater shell which I accumulated and restored but horribly yellowed. Retro brighting is a mixed bag and as the shell is knackered, nothing to lose with a coat of paint. I would like a more permanent solution as it will be a retro display piece.

Have googled and debating to pop into the local Model Shop to see if they would be able to help. Wanted to check here first.

Just wondered if anyone has ever paid for a hobby painter and how to go about finding?

As usual though my memory is letting me down can't remember who it is :(

He can probably give you advice

Seem to look ok once done. Maybe there's some way of treating the plastic to remove the yellowing, best kept stock I'd think.
 
Quite a few people in the modelling forum will probably look at it for you or know someone who will. I have picked up a few jobs on there and through Facebook. Plenty of options if you want it painting and weathering in. Just depends on how much you want done and the budget. The main bit will be the time taken and most pros will change an hourly rate on an estimate of how long it will take. Spraying it all grey is 1 thing. Weathering it in and adding chipping and making it look more real takes time.
