Hello. Have finally received a motherboard to go with the rest of my parts today, but the PC wont post.

Took it out of the case and placed it on the box to ensure it wasn't a shorting issue and still the same.

Tried a single stick (in the manual suggested slot) and nothing.

Tried my old PSU and no change.

I assume I don’t need a gpu to simply post, although realise i wont be able to see anything.

The power button on the mobo is on, but pressing it does nothing.

I also tried a different battery, without any change.

Spec per below:

AMD Ryzen 3600
MSI X570 Unify
Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB)
Seasonic Focus GX750
Sabrent M.2
noctua nh12 cooler

everything else I disconnected to rule out any other faulty components.

I am thinking perhaps it’s the CPU. I bought it a while ago (new) but was in its box. When I took it out some pins were bent so very slowly and using a razor blade got them all straight. The CPU went into the socket with extremely low force so assume all was well.

Apologies for the formatting mess, typing on a tablet. Any help would be appreciated.

The very basic should be fans powering on and mobo doing check ups on cpu, ram, GPU.
If u have zero response, then most likely its mobo, or cpu.

Unfortunately I can't advise best way of testing them.

Just to rule out some brain fart double check if all power leads are connected correctly.
Hope this advice wont offend any one.

Thanks for the response. No fans came on and neither did the bug leds to indicate that anything else is wrong, so suspect you are right. Due to that I took the system to a local pc repair shop to troubleshoot as I dont have any way to test a different mobo or cpu. Last I heard he tried a different cpu and it wouldn't post, so looking like the mobo.

Come to think of it, wouldn’t the EZ debug leds or the debug code monitor on the motherboard indicate something if one of the components wasn’t working as intended?

If all of them are off, does that mean it is indeed the motherboard?

Like you've mentioned in your first post about CPU pins being bent, that could be a big issue even if you think you've straightened them out..

My CPU had one pin on the corner bent by the smallest amount (and I mean a tiny amount) it still sat in the socket but would not boot the system..

The guy at the repair shop said he put another cpu in and didn't boot either, so hopefully it's not that as I'm past the 14 day return period. Unfortunately he's shut today so have to wait till Monday to get my system back and start returning faulty items...

Ahhh fair enough bud.. Pain in the backside when things like this happen and you have to figure out the problem

Got a new mobo this morning, and it works! :D:D

Booted from my Windows USB only to be told that it can't continue installation (error code pointed to corrupted media).

Booted from my old SSD in the new PC and creating the USB again!
