NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Same time as Cyberpunk 2077. so whenever that is.

CP is now November so hopefully they’ll aim to get the cards out beforehand.

Early September is my guess.

Indeed. Anything less than 10% below would be disappointing.

Yeah, fingers crossed they are available to buy in early September.

Still hoping for same as 2080TI or +10% performance to be honest. If not I’ll have to go 3080 or AMD equivalent.

Maybe the 3070Ti if there ends up being such a thing.

Was all set to get a 3080Ti, dependent on price, but after playing around with GSync for a few hours last night I'm not so sure that I'll bother now.

The RT improvements are going to have to be significant to justify an upgrade for anyone that already has a 2### series card.

the source was me, but I deleted the post shortly after posting and it remained cached in the forum. the performance/price on the right hand side was simply my speculation.

Are we talking about the same thing?

:D

You should have words with @humbug. He didn't give you any credit at all. He wanted all the glory for himself :D

Wait...... what? Don't start :P i Quoted him here....... i just didn't want to quote him again.

Considering these are on Samsung 8nm, which is just an enhanced 10nm.... yes, this is accurate.

"+80% over 2080TI" was always going to be "RX 480 as fast as 980TI"

I've got the EVGA FTW3 Hybrid, generally mostly play controller based single player games so I'm happy 50fps minimums on ultra with gsync. Recently played through Star Wars, Control, Division 2 with no issues on ultra. Though recently F1 2020 (80-100fps) and Rocket League (a lot more) are my jam and they're incredibly easy to run on ultra.

Hardly an exhaustive list, from my own experience Control, Metro Exodus, RDR2, Monster Hunter just to name a few graphically demanding games, the 1080ti struggles quite a bit to maintain 40 fps let alone 50-60 at High settings.,

Absolutely.! I have 1440p UW monitor and my water cooled 1080ti struggles with those games big time.!
People who say otherwise are either guessing the frame rate or running their cards LN2 cooled at 2.5Ghz.....
