Max can go home and tell himself he was on a faster lap until he met traffic, and in the knowledge his car isn't as strong. Bottas has to explain to himself why his absolute best was 1.4s slower than Lewis.

I'm not Hamilton's biggest fan but that was simply a masterclass.
After he won his first race they didn't shut up about it. There was talk about how he was so good because his parents couldn't afford proper wets for him when he was karting.
People say "any driver could win in the Mercedes", but when you nullify the faster cars with rain, Hamilton still shows why he deserves to be in that car and all the wins he gets with it.
... in 2018 Bottas couldn't win a single race in it.
There's no doubt the Merc is excellent but without a great driver it wouldn't be winning all these championships.

That qually lap reminded me of Silverstone 2008 where Hamilton just smoked the rest of the field, in terrible conditions.
With such a mixed grid, I expect lots of action (again). Great track for overtaking, just hope the reliability has improved!

Not in a Ferrari. I think only Schumacher has managed that in modern times. Rubens used to be fantastic in the wet, until we went to Ferrari. That being said Vettel was faster than Leclerc today.
