On floor next to me in full view...underneath my worktop....next to my old 800D rig....but sits on a metal tray aka rear panel of a 600d case ...still gets lots of dust but filters do a good job...i blame the housemaid...aka
wife......

800D sits on the remains of a cupboard door offcut..partly to get it off the carpet but also makes it really easy to slide out :)

mine is on the floor under the desk, right above that on the desk are my switch old amp and ps3 and ps4 on top of that, no room on desk for it :P

Main rig is currently sitting besides the desk on the floor, no carpet. Done that way so I can minimise all noise from it as I tinker with it. It would normally be under the desk, on a raised section of the desk, but currently out as I continue to reduce noise produced from it.

Rig in the Living Room is on the floor on carpet, but it doesn't have fans on the bottom other than for the PSU and that's a removable filter, and doesn't get as much use these days. So it's not a major deal on that to be on the floor.

Used to have rigs sitting on the desk, but they were much smaller back then (AT Cases, early ATX Cases with minimal room for cooling as it wasn't needed), and the desk wasn't as full of large items (27"+ Monitors, more like 15" Triniton Sony Monitor, so...) that would make it impossible to place rigs on the desk these days (unless if I got a much larger desk, which I don't have room for at the moment).

Also, none of my rigs have RGB (well except for the H100i original, but it's really only used for cooling, not lighting), so they can be placed anywhere.

Desk for me. Sit stand desk, not sure all the cables would easily make the journey all the way up. Also on the desk means it can exhaust out a window, which can be helpful in summer for when it's getting hotter. Have the glass side away from me though, don't want it lighting up etc.

Only time I’ve had my PC on the desk is when I had a big desk with built in drawers...so the PC would have to be off to the side, out of reach if on the floor

also..my pc is old and pretty noisy (compared to silent/quiet cases) so would rather have that noise on the floor/not at ear level
