Easy way to destroy stupid flies that come into the house...?

Just stop them coming in at all. All you need is

1 x Clear plastic sealable bag
2 x 1p
2 x 2p
1 x 5p
Tap water.

Put the coins in the bag, fill with water and then seal. Then place the bag on the floor just outside the open door. Flies will stop coming in through that door.
didn't they do that on myth busters and it got busted?

flies want to be inside your house because things that are sheltered like trees and houses is where they hang out looking to make babies with another fly.

I usually use a towel or pillow and slowly close in on the fly so it has less and less space until it goes out the door/window. takes a bit of practice though before you get good at predicting their movement.

another trick if it's dark is to turn all your lights off and put a torch or something outside the door and wait for the fly to leave (works stupidly well and only takes 20-30seconds before the flies out usually)

I have a cat that is a fly killing machine. Never seen anything like it she can take any fly out mid flight with seemingly no issue at all. One minute you hear a buzzing the next tabby cat is eating a fly. The downside to that is she took out a dragonfly mid flight yesterday morning and just ate it.

You just got to find yourself the right cat. My other 2 couldnt care less about flies.

Salt guns are probably the most fun way to do it.

We've got one of those electrified swatters but it's stopped working as well as it used to. I guess it's time to replace it.

We've also got some traps for outside which are a plastic bag with some pretty awful smelling stuff in. You just add water and hang it up and the flies go in, get stuck and drown.

The best way to get them is to wait until they land. Sneak over and clap your hands together about 2-3 inches directly above where the fly is sat.

The movement will cause the fly to make an escape but as flies always take off directly out from where they are sat they will fly right into your hands and you will either stun or squash them enough to kill them.

It takes some practice but I'm on an almost 100% hit rate theses days.

or just whack them with a tea towel

I must be like 95% hit rate usually only results in a KO though so if they fall on a surface where you can't easily see them :p

I remember years ago one of my ex partners whacked a huge moth with a tea towel and it fell behind the giant tv ( back before TV's were slim)
we just assumed it was dead then like 1-2 weeks later she was doing something with the tv cable and it flew out at her face lol......

no idea how the hell it survived down there for so long, unless it was a different one that looked the same

But the tea towel way doesn't give you the immense sense of being some kind of ninja

when we were kids, my brother used to catch flies and thread a piece of coloured cotton through their abdomens. then he'd release them and there would be cotton thread flying around the house. he was a bit of a sadist, but it was quite funny at the time.

Instructions unclear, I now have 10 cats none of which are good at catching flies.

Should I carry on getting more cats?

There actually is. eBay Amazon chinese special "tennis racket" which has an electric grid and takes an AA or 2.

Honestly you'd think what a waste of time (i assumed that i'd be throwing a few £ in the bin), but you only have to gently touch the fly with them and its stunned for a few mins. Pick it up and throw it away :)

Get one with a 9v battery. Half the time there is nothing left but a wisp of smoke.

I think so, eventually you're sure to find one like my tabby cat, its a numbers game clearly. Was actually thinking about this thread last night as she went on a fly killing mission.
