NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

People need to get with the program (figuratively or an actual finance program): a 3000 series GPU for £3000 and an Nvidia-sponsored 3000 watt PSU, and a dildo3000 leather edition!!
Be aware that the dildo3000 is quite unlikely to hold much of its value on the 2nd hand market.

Takes me back to when everyone thought they'd need a new PSU for Vega as well, as 1000w was the recommended :p

System Requirement
  • 1000 Watt Power Supply (Recommended)
  • 2 x 8-pin Power Connector.
  • PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.
  • Minimum 8GB of system memory. 16GB recommended.

 :D

This conversation about the new GPUs requiring more powerful PSUs got me worried (sorry, really noob here).

I've ordered a new pc that didn't come yet with a Corsair 750W RMx Series™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® Gold, is it likely that I'll require a different one? Might as well change it now while the pc hasn't been built yet..
I'd appreciate all the advice anyone can give :)

I think the general consensus is that you'll be OK. As stated above, at most there could be a new PSU cable required, if there is any new cable at all.
