I mean the only thing that tempted me is the awesome bc and upscaling they have but realistically how many games can I play?
When I'm working properly again it will just be back to evenings and weekends and there are already a few PS4 games I want to play like FFVIIR and the Ghost game.

Same for me, I bought a second-hand One S a while back for PUBG so my mate and I could play it (before it was released on PS4), and I hoped I'd get more from it with other games like Forza Horizon, but I can play those on my PC. Nothing about the Xbox has won me over, GamePass is a great thing but the entire experience of using the console is clunky and frustrating and ultimately, the PS5 has the games I want and is the more appealing bit of kit.

The differences in power or performance don't even enter into the equation for me really, the PS5 will be no slouch.
I always keep my son's game pass subscription topped up but I believe that it will eventually harm the second hand market. Playstation as a brand are still doing things the traditional way for the time being. Sony care about selling hardware and giving players great experiences. I hope that they don't follow the xbox route of mainly caring about the services.

Interesting theory on the changeable plates, they do look like they are designed to just clip in.

If that image is to be believed then I am taking the plates off! Though, it might look better in the flesh than in the images we've seen.
Tbh if it looks like that in the flesh I won't even bother having any panels on at all.

Be interesting to see if this is really possible will certainly change my stance on the ugliness of the thing.

I truly do not think this is going to be the case - really, every single image we've seen has had optional side panels added?
Doesn't ring true - but we'll find out within the next month or so.

They're not optional, but people seem to think you'll be able to remove them.

To me those don't look user-replaceable as there are a lot of mounting points, and using it without the panels means you're going to have a weird-looking bit of hardware with holes all over both sides.

That render above doesn't look right either, aside from the fact it's upside down I get the impression the version with the drive has an additional protrusion on one side to accommodate the drive, otherwise there wouldn't be any need for it to be larger than the digital one.

The horizontal stand is also designed to raise the console to aid with airflow.

If there is a difference it won't be noticeable.

Interesting hearing what Moore's Law Is Dead had to say about it, the PS5 could be using RDNA 2.5 or RDNA 3, and GOW2 could be announced soon.

I understand why people would continue to buy into Nintendo, but to this day I still don't get the appeal of an Xbox, no matter how powerful each console has been.

I don't think so.

That PS5 graphics engineer Rosario Leonardi said it was a mix between RDNA 1 and 2.

This render seems way off the interior forn size, its a lot wider.
Yep but you get the general idea.

I'm sure the side panels are designed to direct the hot air away from the console so it probably wouldn't be smart to run it without them attached.
