NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I don’t think he is expecting it to be £750 I think most people now expect nvidia to take the mick with pricing, knowing people will pay over the odds.

£1000 is silly money yet alone anything above that. The problem with people willing to pay silly money is that it directly affects all those not willing to pay it. You are essentially saying bump your prices up nvidia while we bend over and willingly position ourselves directly in front of you for a no lube shafting.

Perfectly fine if you like that sort of thing, not so much for those of us that don’t.

If people really want to see NVidia get back to lower prices with the upcoming 3XXX cards they are going to have to accept little or no performance increase over the 2XXX series,

I disagree. This time around there is serious competition from AMD on two fronts: Big Navi and the consoles. Remember that the competition has to be merely good enough and the consoles are expected to be just that, as is Big Navi. So if the price is too high people will just wait. Nvidia will have to price their cards competitively to persuade prople to buy.

I reckon it'll just be the 3080 and they will charge £1000 with a ti coming somewhere down the line. I have no basis for this though, just something I can see them doing.

I'm going for £999 for 3080 and £1499 for 3080ti. Although at those prices I'm definitely not going for either.

Same on the latter, Im guessing prices will be £899 then £1299. Would love something at 3070S but £449 this would be ages later though.

While you may stand by that, the price of the 2080Ti on launch is proof that people will pay out the nose for 20% gains.

A price doesn't prove anything. The number of people who actually "pay out the nose for 20% gains" matters. People seem to just assume that Turing sold well.

You're correct, that's exactly what I was saying. The £750 comment is an emphasis on the fact that they've alienated me to the point where my interest is all but disappeared.

What’s with all the child like comments about taking it up the backside?

I went from an RX480 to a 2080Ti and the performance increase was massive. So was the price tag but so what? I didn’t want to buy an EOL 1080Ti when they weren’t exactly cheap at the time either.

If you don’t want to pay high prices don’t, but why the persistent comments about it? It just makes you sound ridiculous but don’t let reason stop you!

I get we’re all tired off waiting for new info, of which there seems to be very little, but the frequent “you had to be an idiot to buy a 2000 series” and “Nvidia went in dry” tripe is just painful to read.

Perhaps you can think of something interesting to say instead?

This thread is a good read at times, and full of utter rubbish at others.

You could have said the same thing if you bought the RTX Titian. I mean, "the price tag is massive but so what?"

Indeed, and it would have made absolutely no difference.

Just don’t get the mentality of a few people on here who are presumably adults.

I suppose I shouldn’t have bought an OLED TV as they’re not cheap either.

You didn’t have a choice so fair enough.

you also waited a long time so you played NVidia, they didn’t play you.
