Half Life 3 possibly at Gamescom?

Just saw this on google news

I'll be extremely surprised if anything is shown, it will also probably be a short teaser.. or they demonstrate a new upgraded engine?

Listening to Gabe Newell and some of the other developers at Valve who were being interviewed around the release of HL: Alyx, Half Life is a franchise that's seen as platform to push technology forward and show others what's possible they only commission HL games when there is a new technology that can be leveraged. It was never intended to be a regular annual cash cow like other well known franchises.

Well thats a lie. WHen they brought out Episode 1 and 2, they said they would realease more closer together but shorter to expand the story. Cop out. **** valve.

Well they obviously started when they started to develop Alyx, their thinking at the time of the expansions was to launch more often but they also suffered delays.
