Nevermind, I'm sure the upcoming CyberPunk etc will run a solid 60FPS+ with most detail settings set to max on one of the high end cards and at 4K eh?

Yeap, 100% agree. I shouldn't take the bait, as it's obvious he's trolling. He was up to the same in the monitor forum, mocking those getting 4K monitors/TV's and not accepting 4K is possible with today's hardware.

I'm running a Radeon VII, not the fastest card, between a 2070S and a 2080 in most games, but gets be by at 4K until I upgrade to the 3000 series (or big Navi). Still far prefer the IQ/experience at 4k 40-60 fps (the freesync range of my monitor) compared to 1440P 144Hz.

I have been on 4K since 2014. Currently running 4K on my high end RX 580

Lol at the first part. My guesses;
1. 3080ti is +40% performance over 2080ti
2. 3080ti £1499 for the standard blower. Up to £2000 for the good cards

That’s 100% my guess as well. And these are for random blower cards too. Good cards will cost £200-300 more.

Shocking how for others price hike is ok as long as there is performance to gain. With this approach after few years 5080ti will cost £3500. Can't imagine paying double for new laptop because i'm getting 40% faster cpu and double amount of ram

I would agree with this - prices cant keep going up 30% every iteration. 8800 Ultra was $830 bucks on launch in 2007 so prices have not risen year on year since then. Hopefully AMD will bring some competitiveness into the mix and help keep prices at more reasonable levels.

It aint gonna continue, by that I mean you may get the same % of enthusiasts upgrading at the flagship end - but thats what 1% of the market.

Regular people, students, low-income families, gamers etc. are only buying the cards up to £300 as thats all they want to spend. Just reference the steam type surveys to get a rough figure. For places like this that have more of an interest in components you might get a larger % commit to the £300-600 range which is where the eyes are all watching!

That's not what they mean, its the delta the performance difference between same generation products.

If say a 3080 is 20% faster than a 2080Ti for £700
then a 3090 costing £1.5k is acceptable (to some) if it hits 80% faster than a 2080Ti or 60% faster than a 3080

The worst example being a 2080 barely single digit performance faster than a 1080Ti but costing £100 more with less vram and tensor cores you were hardly able to use

Yea. The 2080 was a turd of a proposition. They just banked on RTX marketing. Showed us a list of games and tech that never really panned out to sell it

This time around RTX will be where it should have launched with originally. I just want to see more games use it, otherwise it will be just like gameworks, in a handful of games.

They have done enough fixing DLSS and having both RT and DLSS in the games I most look forward to playing soon so I am looking forward to buying an Ampere card.

I still don’t think the prices will be as silly as some think though. £700 for a 3070? What are you smoking mate, even Jensen doesn’t have access to that kind of stuff
