Hi,

ive been using for a while - a dell optiplex 9020 with a GTX 15050ti
was ok for a while but now after something with a little more power.

I picked up these at good prices with ebay 15% off
MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F + CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 - Bundle (£233)
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...ocket-am4-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-6cc-as.html
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...hz-socket-am4-processor-retail-cp-3b9-am.html

M2 SSD - Paid £55
ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro 512GB M.2 NVMe - Will be used as primary drive

RAM: - Paid £51
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz

So under £350 for those which looking at average prices looks a good deal.

Now its been a while since I've built a pc but I believe I now need:
Case - was looking at getting this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lian-li-lancool-ii-mesh-rgb-midi-tower-case-black-ca-78d-ll.html

PSU
GPU

cooling? not sure about ^ any recommendations for these ?

In no rush to finish this build, I'm thinking maybe wait around for black Friday or new GPU announcement

I have around £500 - 600 to finish this build

Thanks for any info

15050ti?! Can I borrow your time machine?

Jokes aside, for the PSU, something like this would do the trick - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/supe...old-modular-power-supply-black-ca-060-sf.html

Good shout on waiting for the new GPUs. Although the nearest releases may be the top tier (thus out of budget) cards, you may find some good deals on current gen ones.

As for cooling, probably best to just get whatever you can afford after the PSU and GPU, rather than buying some fancy cooling and potentially having to get a worse GPU in a month or so.

lol 1050ti
thanks - I plan on just using this existing GPU till I see a good deal

Cooler.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/alpe...ion-dual-fan-cpu-cooler-140-mm-hs-05h-al.html
AM4 adapter
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/alpenfohn-am4-mounting-kit-for-brocken-coolers-hs-057-al.html

I have checked and it will fit in the Lancool 2 case you where looking at. :)

PSU I would second the Leadex 3 as Connell recommended.

thanks I'm definitely getting that case

but cooling - is water cooling better?
something like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...liquid-cpu-cooler-240mm-cw-906-hs-03t-cs.html

something like
The arctic freezer II 280 is a very good cooler but totally overkill for a 3600.

New Gpus coming out soon for nvidia/AMD so better to hold fire and wait for those.

They can be better but air has less failure rates and its not 4.5* better(price difference)!! If your willing to spend that sort of money get a noctua NH-D15

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/noct...pu-cooler-with-two-nh-a15-fans-hs-026-nc.html

Better than almost every every AIO cooler on the market but again totally overkill for a 3600

guys here is what i have currently:
rWkU4ab.jpg

MOBO - I'm keeping this as it came as a bundle with the CPU for a good price. (There's always gonna be something better whatever you buy). Reviews are good for this.

RAM - likely gonna return this even though its probably ok. I have time as I'm not planning to build for a few weeks. Dont want any that is gonna prevent me from fitting in a cooler if needed.

COOLER - gonna run it first without one, if I don't need then no point getting one until I do.

Thoughts on this RAM? or anyone recommend some

The Corsair RAM you have in photo is fine? Don’t really come across cooler clearance issues with standard LPX. It’s the RGB one that has taller heat spreaders. But it’s a non-issue anyway you aren’t getting a stupid cooler lol.

When you say ‘without a cooler’ I presume you mean with the stock one :p

Yes stock cooler :)
And I've ordered the RGB ram

I was also recommend to use MX-4 paste if using stock cooler so gonna get some of that.
