I've decided to get rid of my laptop and since I've got some spare time as a result of covid, I've decided to build my own PC (for the first time with a budget).

Please see a provisional build below:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor with AMD Wraith Max 55.78 CFM CPU Cooler
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB Founders Edition Video Card
Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Power: Thermaltake Litepower 450 W ATX Power Supply
Case: Cougar Gemini M MicroATX Mini Tower Case

Others:
TP-Link TL-WN823N USB 2.0 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter
upHere B12CM4 50.9 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack

I'm still deciding between one of those 34inch screens with 100hz or 2 smaller ones with similar rates, will prob decide this later on and dependant on budget.

I'm hoping to do some light/moderate gaming on it e.g. League, Monster Hunter: World, Overwatch, CSGO etc, nothing too recent I guess.

I'd really appreciate some feedbacks/suggestions/alternatives.

Thanks a lot !

P.S. I originally went for Ryzen 7 3700X with GTX 1660 super but saw somewhere online that itd be very imbalanced hence I picked 3600X with GTX 2060 instead. Please correct me if I'm wrong xD

I presume the monitor is 3440 x 1440 resolution? Knowing the resolution and refresh rate will help with the GPU choice.

However id really appreciate it if you can also suggest alternatives for if I opt for a lower frame rate monitor e.g. 75hz and 1920x1080

Thanks !

There's a chasm in performance between those, 3440 x 1440p @ 100 is pretty demanding, though less so in those games. 1080p @ 75 is not challenging at all for esports. Hopefully when the new cards are out in a few weeks, you'll have more options.

Ahhh I see, yea I don't think I will go into games that are anymore straining than those ive list above. With the GPU and CPU combos I've got at the moment though, do you think the Gtx 2060 is a good pairing with the Ryzen 5 3600x ? Or do you have any other suggestions that is better for value/performance ? Again, assuming that the eventual goal would be to get a 3440x1440 100hz monitor.

I don't really like anything in that price range, we really desperately need a refresh, I'm hoping the new nvidia cards will finally push the market forwards. You can pay £500 and 1440p is still a struggle in the newest games. I know you don't need the performance right now, but you're still paying for it. The 3600X is perfectly capable of matching the 2060 though, yes.
