Z390 Aorus Master draining CMOS batteries.

Can you measure the current drawn from the battery? You might need 4 hands to hold the multimeter probes and a bit of wire to measure it. The battery is only used for the clock and NVRAM, which only need a few µA, but if it's draining in mere days then the current might be 0.1mA or more, which should be measurable on a standard multimeter.

Its been returned now mate, i'm up and running with the replacement.

I'm just monitoring the new one to see if the problem repeats itself.

I have a Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI not had to replace my Cmos, I do power it off from the wall the days I have to go to work and know I wont have time to go on my computer for more than a day just to save the penny and the planet (maybe).

However i do own a unique system, AmigaONE x1000 that getting close to 9 years old. Change the Cmos on it once two years ago, using Duracell battery so my experience is they should last 7 years.

Changing the battery is difficult due to its ridiculous location.
Practical solution: do not shut down the computer. Instead of that SLEEP the pc by re-defining the power button function or using ALT-F4 with no active window (mouse cursor at empty desktop location). Keep the power cord connected.
Waking up the pc will get it back in operation immediately and without rebooting.
