Good afternoon,

I will be building a PC for a friend, he has sent me a list of PC parts of which some has already been purchased so cannot really change the list. I was after some reassurance that this build would be good enough for gaming. I am not sure the gpu will live up to much and the two storages are probably going to fill up quick.

Here is the list:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £456.01 (includes shipping: £11.10)

PSU: EVGA 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
GPU:Asus GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB Phoenix OC Video Card

He is missing a case and cpu cooler on this list so these will need to be added.

What are your thoughts on this build?

You can get a 500gb ssd for £50 alternatively dtch the old hard drive and get a 1tb wd sn550 m2 ssd.

Teamgroup 16gb 3200mhz £54

1650 is an ok gpu for 1080p.

Just use the cooler with the 3600 it's not bad.

GIGABYTE B450 AORUS M Matx will save you £18

My basket at Overclockers UK:

1. Much better motherboard, the VRM's on the B450 Elite are iffy.
2. Large NvME as opposed to a small over priced Samsung SATA SSD and a HDD.
3. Faster RAM for less money.

Comes out at a comparable price.

The PSU you've listed could be better and the 1650 is a so-so GPU for 1080P.

If just gaming the stock cooler should suffice, although it can be a little noisy. At most something like a Freezer 34 for £20 would be ample. For the case I'd look at something with a mesh front that comes with pre-fitted fans, it does depend on budget however.

Thank you all, that has been a great help. I didn't realise the mobo came with a cooler!

We have gone for the ram suggested above but the rest has already been bought!

Cheers
