Card i have is a Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming.

Went to boot up Remnant of the ashes earlier and within 5 minutes of playing the game froze and crashed to Desktop. Thought nothing of it, booted it up again and got the same problem. The error message kept coming up as:

Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

Decided to try Division 2, few minutes into that and the same thing happened. Just crashed to desktop?

Everything seemed to be working fine last night?

Temps
Temps never go over 70c and are generally around the 65C mark. No OC on my side, card is as it came out of the factory.

Graphic Drivers
I've uninstalled the drivers i had, which were the latest from Nvidia and reinstalled the revision before. I've yet to try any games.

PSU
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2. Not sure if this would be the issue though?

I had noticed that in games there were a few flashes of random colours? Hard to try and capture, these tended to be green and red i think.

Is there any easy way of me establishing if the card is on its way out?

That first message tends to happen a lot with Unreal engined games if your card is overclocked.

If yours is, play the game without it.

Card is as it was when it came out the factory. I haven't overclocked it.

have you tried re-seating it and its cable connections

Not yet no. This was going to be my next step after testing the driver rollback. I was thinking of trying Unigine Heaven and stress test.

Downgraded drivers from 452.06 to 451.67 and no crashes or colour flashes in Division 2 after 5 minutes.

Will DDU and reinstall 451.67 and then retest the above two games.

Edit:
Tested both games and no issues present? Not sure if this was just a random driver issues that's popped up from nowhere or there are issues with the card still?

Will keep an eye on this and see what happens.

This use to happen to me when I had a gtx 970 had to stay on drivers from a certain date anything newer and games would crash after xx time. For 1 and half years I couldn't update my driver. Everything ran fine until I would update the driver..

NVIDIA had a few issues with their drivers recently and I know it affected the Gigabyte 2070S. There was a patch that came out to the driver. Oddly enough the fault was in 451.67. I suppose the patch should be in 452.06 but it's possible there are still issues. I don't know, but I suspect it may be just a driver issue.

It was really Bizarre? I mean, i've had that 452.06 since the release date, played the same games, then yesterday it didn't want to play for some reason? Any idea what the issue was in that drive release?
Division 2 is buggy as hell. Don't judge anything on that game.

Have you overclocked the GPU?
No. Factory default OC is there though?

Aware that Division 2 is hardly the best game to choose, but, just needed another game to boot up quickly to see if the CTD were there in that one too, or, if it was an isolated game issue.

Ideally, i should have rebooted the system and tried both games again.

Played from around 8pm till 1215am, ran fine, no glitches no crashes etc.

Did have an issue after i shut the PC down, it didn't shut down, and a hard power down made the BIOS rest -_-

There were about five bug fixes. I remember one was the Gigabyte 2070S driving a 4K TV. The Windows 10 nightlight turned the screen green! Apart from that I am afraid I can't remember.

Ahh okay. Nothing that really effects me then I don't think.

Thanks though.

Will keep an eye on this issue. See if it crops up again at any point.

Great. Haha. Funny thing is, the latest worked fine for the best part of two weeks really? I'm just wondering if there was some sort of weird issue when Windows loaded and a simple reboot may have fixed it?

Who knows!?
