How do you mount a pump/res combo?

Hi,

Im looking at something like this pump/res combo:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

It appears to come with a 120mm bracket which the pump bottom mounts to and then that is connected to the base of the case on a 120mm fan mounting.

However all the cases I'm considering (including sticking with what I already have, a Phanteks P400), don't have a 120mm fan mount on the base of the case at the front.

So Im confused on how you're supposed to mount it? Can anyone help? Perhaps it would be clearer once I'd bought the thing I don't know, but I'm still considering my options so not ready to actually buy yet.

Thanks.

So if the rad was on the front of the case you'd go fans, rad, bracket? And the bracket would mount to the lower of the three (assuming a 360mm radiator) fan locations?

Although that product doesn't say it has compatibility with the pump/res combo, only the standalone pumps.

i saw these:

But what do these mount to? They'd have to have some vertical holes in exactly the right place in the case. For example the Lian Li O11D doesn't have any vertical holes because the front is glass?

Thanks.

Get a drill out.

Take a look at the Singularity Computer mounts. You'll need to check they will be compatible with the diameter of your tube.

Thanks. Its got all those holes but what it is supposed to mount to in the case? That's what I don't understand with all these mounts, because cases don't seem to have holes or places for these things?

Ive been checking in the build threads and its difficult to see how the reservoirs are actually mounted in a lot of the pictures.

The thread of the bolts goes through the holes and then into the radiator holes. You'll thus need to make sure you use the right thread for your radiator (eg, M4 or UNC 6-32) and that the bolts are not so long that they puncture the radiator when screwed all the way in.

Have a watch from this point on -> https://youtu.be/XH766g7KXFg?t=738
