My watercooling build is still very much a work in progress due to back problems. Having done a little more to the build today, I'd like to put a radiator behind the tray, with fans inside the case and the radiator between the rear of the tray and the all metal side panel.

Looking at it, I think the maximum thickness radiator that I can get away with, as long as the fans are mounted internally, is a 50mm radiator. Due to the pain in the proverbial that imperial fixings are (yes, thinking of you XSPC!), I'd prefer something that uses metric screws.

Anyone put a thicker radiator behind the PC011D tray? Thinking of something like the Alphacool Nexxxos XT45, with the added bonus of the protective ledge to protect the fins and water channels.

Can't comment on the Lian-Li but the Alphacool XT45 is what came to mind when you said metric screws and sub-50mm. Got one as front intake in my setup, very satisfied.

I have an alphacool ST30 in the rear of mine - and I commented in the past that if a needed some push fans they would need to be 15mm so I wouldn't go for anything thicker than 45mm..

Thanks for that, I currently have my fans setup to pull there, along with a XSPC TX360 in the roof that I may move down to the bottom.

54mm is the max for the side of the lan li 011D case and then its pretty tight. I have Two Black ice nemesis LX360 oem builder editions installed side and top 2080ti never tops 43C in a 25C ambient 8700k @ 5ghz idling at 33C.

Great Rads picked them up for £70 each

you can fit a 60mm in the top plus one set of fans internally

you can fit up to 54mm in the side with one set of fans internally

Alphacool Nexxxos XT45 will fit easily.
