Advice needed PC Spec

Hi,
I'm new to PC gaming and have always used consoles. With the new PS5 coming out soon, I'm thinking an option would be to upgrade the PC I currently have instead of buying the console.

This will be used for Call Of Duty Warzone predominantly, so would like it to run this comfortably.

I don't have a specific budget, don't want low end parts that just about do the job, but also no need in spending a fortune, it needs be a big enough difference compared to the new console coming out to warrant going ahead.

If I was to put the current spec of the PC I have, would anyone be able to tell me what could be kept, if anything. Also what would need replacing or adding? I built this PC new 2 years ago if that helps.

Current Spec:

Graphics (GPU): AMD Radeon RX Vega 11
Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 4 Core
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB
Motherboard: Asus Prime B350M-A
Power supply: Corsair CX750M
Hard drive: 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD

I have downloaded warzone onto the current PC and it says not enough VRAM to run the game.

I have tried to explain as much as possible in this post and if anyone requires more please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply....

Yes I did try and had a message come up basically saying not enough VRAM.

I would like to play at a higher resolution anyway, otherwise wouldn't see the point if that makes sense.

I'm guessing its the graphics card being the problem here?

Thanks,
Chris

Upgrading the CPU to a 3700X and the Gpu to a RTX3060 when it's released should put you slightly ahead of the new consoles.

If you wanted a cheaper upgrade then a ryzen 5 3600 and try pick up a cheap 2070super either used or if price cuts happen when the new cards are released.

Also grab a 16gb ram kit 3200-3600 in speed.

A gtx 1650 should do you well should be able to game at 1080p medium settings.

How much do you want to spend ?

Don't think he wants to spend as much as a console costs.

Thanks for the heads up I will have a look into your suggestions and see what they are all about. Still learning so will catch up with the lingo soon enough ;)

Will have a look into the gtx 1650 thank you.

Haven't got a budget, i don't want to spend top money if it really isn't needed. This does not mean i want cheap alternatives.

If it cost the same or slightly over the new PS5 cost, but is more sufficient, then it will make sense for me.

Appreciate the help,
Thanks,
Chris

Probably want to wait to see what the new console offers before wasting too much money on PC parts.

Grab another 8GB or DDR4 RAM, and something like a 1650 Super, you'll have change from £200 see how you get on with PC gaming, not everyone likes it. Then if you enjoy it, you can easily upgrade without losing a fortune, unlike if you bought a new CPU, more RAM and a high end GPU right now. :)

Is your ram 1 x 8gb or 2 x 4gb ?

Tell us what you are happy to spend and we will suggest the best parts for your budget.

The ram is 2 x 4gb at the moment, don't mind getting more ram if needed also.

I will spend what is needed at the end of the day, would like to run at 4k resolution and around 80-120 FPS smoothly. Im not a hardcore hours on end gamer, but play most evenings after work for a few hours with friends.
What would be nice is for it to run at the FPS and Resolution smoothly without issues arising.

Sorry for not actually coming up with u budget as Ii know it would make your life a lot easier, but it really isn't an issue. Tell me what's needed and I will happily take it on board (treat me as a kid) its all new to me :D

I see the 1650 Super come up often, must be doing the job. Is there a certain brand to aim for as when i type it in, there is many results. I will be playing with a controller, not up for learning buttons all over again haha.

Thanks for the input bud

You will need the new RTX3090 Gpu to run at 4K 60+ and that's looking like a £1500 Gpu.

Running 4k 80- 120 fps is gonna need more powerful components and money.

Consoles run at 1080p then they upscale the image to 4k it's not like for like.

Console say £500

Pc components equivalent spend
Amd 3600 £200
Rx 5600xt £260
8gb ram £30

Well you can pretty much just get whatever GTX 1650 Super is cheapest, they start around £140, but for £155 you can get 2 fans and a longer warranty. Since you have 2x 4GB already, and I believe your board has 4 RAM slots, you can grab another 16GB RAM, DDR3200 MHz is £59 so you'll end up with 24GB, or take the 8GB out if needs be.

If you don't get on with the PC gaming, then you'll easily get £100 notes back for the graphics card, and £30-40 for the RAM.

Ok, thats great, sounds good to me, starting to make sense now. Yes 4 RAM slots available. Will have a search around this evening and go from there.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
