NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Only thing i got from that is Nvidia are potentially worried AMD will have decent cards at good prices, thus the competitive prices..

Will be interesting to see AMDs offerings
Yep, it's a very strong indicator that Nvidia are worried AMD might smoke them otherwise they'd be far more expensive.

Looking at the raw Tflops and ignoring the RT and tensor cores (which are for RT and DLSS, something lots of games do not support) the 3090 has 36 Tflops. The 3080 has 30 and the 3070 has 20.

The 2080Ti has 28.5.

I'm certain it's a bit too early to write AMD off in the GPU space :p

We literally know nothing about RDNA2.

If they can do 3080 performance for £550-£600 then they should sell well. Can't see them having something for the 3090 which is a tiny market anyway.

Imagine how I feel. I saved £1800 for GPU upgrades and have no idea what to buy 2 3080s or 1 3090..................is 2 gpus suddenly amazing with new nvlink tech that scales in every game? Or is paying a tiny bit more for 1 slightly bigger card worth it with my budget? Don't question cost with me I have a decent job ty, rather comically though I love my case, board and nvmes so I try not to upgrade cpu until deadly needed - am desperate for intel to go pcie4 before I do that.

3090 seems to be a large price jump for little extra, except VRAM

Hey man look, I have no doubt at all that these cards will trump the 20 series in RT and DLSS. No doubt at all. I never have. But. When you look at them in the cold light of day and ignoring all of the wizardry? like I said a couple of pages back, when something sounds too good to be true.......

These days the single faster card makes more sense - and that is coming from someone who was a big SLI junkie :(
