3090 is $1500 or £1700 (estimation online)

then when the 3090ti is launched possibly end of 2021 it will be a £2000 gpu

Thats what titans cost+

Enthusiast PC gaming is getting extremely expensive, not to mention the price of the new mobos and CPU's

I just upgraded a year ago to a 2080ti and a i9 9820x

My system now feels old, and im sure i paid like £800 for my chip and now they retail at £500

Just crazy:(
 
I suspect this thread will be merged. Think it's £1399. Don't think there will be a Ti version, but never say never. If anything I think it'll be cut back to form a 3080 Ti at a later date. The 3090 appears to be the Titan of the generation. 10GB(80) vs 24GB(90) is a huge difference - they could save a few £ removing a chunk of that memory if it's doable to create a cheaper Ti later.

Look at it this way. Back in the day you'd pay £400/500 to play at 720p or at best 1600x1200 with 50fps if you were lucky. That was an enthusiast pc. Relatively speaking now we can do that with less then £100.
1080p doesn't have to cost that much either it's only when you want 4k or extremely high refresh rates or both that we need to spend a lot, which are luxuries we used to live without. For most people a 5600xt or 2060 level card playing 1080p is more then enough. Kinda depends on what you see as enthusiast level but compared to even 10 years ago you can get more for less lower down the price range then before.

That’s the brilliance of nVidia pricing. They were hoping people would forget and gloss over the fact they’re still selling in a big price shift since Turing release.
Oooh the **70 card is ONLY $500! Lol.

Well computers are depreciating assets. Anyone who treats a GPU as a shares ISA with a guaranteed return after 2 years is asking for trouble. Only spend what you can afford to loose in my opinion.

I'd be somewhat sceptical of the "faster than 2080 Ti" bit. Even Nvidia's own marketing graph only had it about 1% higher than the 2080 Ti on the performance axis, and I'd imagine that's when compared to a bone stock 2080 Ti. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2080 Ti proved a little faster overclock versus overclock, though I imagine it'll depend on the game either way. Of course, when it's less than half the price, it still makes the 2080 Ti completely irrelevant (and even more of a joke than it already was). Probably pull a fair bit less power too I'd imagine.
