Seen some posts on FB with people cashing in on their 2080ti trying to get above £600 and people are just offering low as £250, the seller is just getting advice to flog their cards at CEX while the asking price is still close to £500.

It’s best to wait it out the prices will level off again after new cards are released. Exact same thing happened with 9 and 10 series release.

2080Ti will still hold some value due to the 11GB and performance we don’t know how close the 3070 is to it yet.

i hope when gibbo put them up for preorder that he can satisfy his customers by limiting them to one order per person as to not run out of stock on the same day they go up for pre order .............. keep everyone happy gibbo :) :)
I be really annoying if i finish work and go to preorder on the same day they go up and you say you have no more left i be so annoyed...

I want some Lemonade now! :p I don't get a constant 60FPS all the time, because I went a bit mad with the mods, and started making massive settlements. I actually need a CPU upgrade!

I only play two games at higher than 60FPS,and that is PS2 and Overwatch. I also don't give a damn if they both look a bit crap,as less crappy effects, the less gets in the way of me playing! :p

Hmm im torn.....3090 now? Or buy the 3080 for now and wait for the 3080ti...then sell the 3080...decisions.
Yeah this is what I am wrestling with - sensible thing would be to buy 3080 then sell it on at small loss for the ti - but there is a lot faff involved with that and I imagine quite a few will do this upgrading from 1080ti/2080ti where ram is not quite there yet. Or just get the 3090 - probably gonna be 400 quid more than the ti but you can just sit on it after that and not worry.

If the 3080 Founders card's cooler works effectively, I like the look of it well enough that I probably wouldn't go AIB unless they were *cheaper* than the founders cards.

I’m going for the 3090 future proof with 24 gig of ram an all seeing then 3080 in games has me set for it just hope my 1200 psu holds .

The one advantage 2080 Ti still has over the 3070 is (and also 11 GB) that it can be NVLinked, if you care about that. It's still an absolute beast of a card & for older titles it might be a better choice (eg 5K/8K nvlink for DX11 titles).

It's the hysteria that gets me. Jen is so good at making people think what they have is a load of crap.

To test this theory I allowed the virus that is COD MW to mutate and give itself 20gb more storage. I used all of the new settings, including the shadow maps and etc. Even used RT.

It looked superb, and at 1440p I was hitting around 150 FPS. So the performance has actually improved since I played it last, with more stuff enabled.

I can't see BLOPS 4 Cold War changing this very much, so the only thing I am left to worry about is Cyberpunk. Though what I really mean is that "worry" is actually a lime and I am just bitter.

Only issue is don't the FE cards usually dry up fairly quickly, i.e. if you want one you need to get in fast?

That used to be the case but they generally remain in production much longer these days. That was the whole reason for the name change and the price increase back with the 1080.
