NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

That would depend on the game and what rez.
By a lot.

720p....

I do think the guy who keeps offering £180 for every 2080ti is a troll and needs banning tbh. We all know they have devalued but if a 2080ti is only worth £180 then a 2080 is only worth £130 and a 2070 is only £80 which is ridiculous.

He has been suspended, and if there was ever an apt name for a member, it's his! :P

Peasants like me can't afford or won't spend £479 to get a 3070 and entry into the Ampere world.

Do you reckon we'll get a 3060 type card?

Yes, probably in Q1 2021 though

I'd be surprised if there wasn't - looks like the whole positioning of the range is to try and drive down cost of adoption of RTX, so a 3060 or even 3050 seem likely (even if they haven't physically got the horsepower to do much with RTX), just to avoid a repeat of e.g. the RTX2060 vs GTX1660 situation.

yeah agree is £350 trolling ?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you intially put down?

c. £8,000 “margin”. I had a reasonable balance in my spread betting account anyway, every position you take reduces your available margin (basically you have to have the cash in the account to take each position).

Can get quite hairy if thing go wrong. Which they sometimes do.

I just had a feeling about this launch plus the seemingly inexorable (famous last words) rise of US Tech at the moment

at 720p lol.

Do you understand what a CPU bottleneck means? This is also a game meant to scale to 1000 fps.

Exactly. So it's quite possible that the NVME I already have will be fine. But we don't know yet until we get games and see what is what.

Not until 2021 anyway.

Yup. That's why I'm not worried either. IF there's a real need for PCIe 4.0 NVMe's then it's not gonna be for another year or two, and by that time I'll jump on board a new platform for DDR5.

It has happened with many generations in the past - Pascal and Turing are the only ones really that have been more phased.

Turing failed to offer meaningful performance improvements over Pascal at the various price points, so the Pascal parts didn't devalue the way most last-gen cards usually do when a new gen hits the market.
