NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I love how many psychologists frequent this forum. Only when a new release is happening.

Firstly, I am not rambling. I have made one post about that.

Cars are a terrible comparison, phones are a terrible comparison, etc etc yada yada.

Funny how all of these psychologists who know you are angry, trying to justify something, telling straight out lies, not happy that you "lost" money on a 20 series GPU (yet you couldn't care as you are not selling any of them) and so on.

It's absolutely incredible how unhappy people are these days. It really is. You want to talk about psychology? I have studied it for 25 years and I am telling you the responses people have over something like this and their reaction and the utter addiction and sickness that prevails just leaves me lost for words.

People literally have no self control at all any more, and if you do? you are rambling, being sour, being bitter, mad, angry, etc.

Studied it for 25 years - got a qualification or practice it? Sounds like all that studying you missed of maybe looking inwards - maybe you need some help.

Too much self projection in what you write.

Do you work for KFA2 :D

I’m glad I sold both my 1080’s 3-4 weeks ago, they’d currently be worth around 50p now!
I have a problem now though as I wanted a 3090 but it’s a long boy and won’t fit in my Corsair air 540 with the front 360 rad. The 3080 looks like it would just fit.
I haven’t looked at cases in so long! Does anyone know of any decent cases that aren’t ridiculously huge (1000d) that would house my x399 aorus xtreme motherboard (eatx) a 360 rad and an rtx3090?
I guess I have some research to do.

Just out of curiosity...

How many people keep their card for 5 years? Can't say I ever have.
Mind you, can't say I've ever had a card break either.

Just seems a LOT of mad love for the 5 year warranty and I'm sitting here like, meh. what am I missing?

Depends. I do replace them every 2 years or so, but I still keep them in some cases if I don't consider it worth selling off. In fact my 480 is almost 4 years old I guess, and it's serving me well right now. If it did die & I had a 5y warranty, I wouldn't mind getting a brand new replacement sent in the form of a 5500XT 8GB :)

I imagine the next arch after Ampere won't be such a big leap either, so it would probably be worth keeping the card for 4 years easily, as the main GPU. Then retire it in another PC or as a backup card.

I said studied it. Nothing else.

I don't need help either, but thanks.

So I've noticed the MSI and Zotec cards and theyre not much bigger then my Asus Strix Vega 64 so thats OK, although I get anxious how heavy it is. My worry is the gold rated 650w PSU, I can't really afford a 3080 and a New psu as this is a year old.

Ouch at the price. For that i can buy the FE and the waterblock and still have change!!!!

I really, REALLY, cannot comprehend why anyone would buy this over the Zotac Trinity which is metal clothed and has TWO more years warranty.

And pay £150 for the privilege for it!

Mind boggled.
