It might require a particular NVMe version which could exclude older drives, but that wouldn't necessarily be down to which PCIe version the drive uses.

So just to clear this up cos I can cancel my order for an 850W

my cpu is 3700x, 2 8gb sticks of rgb ram, 1 m2 drive, 2 3'5" drives, and the vega 64 which is going.

My current 650 80gold psu, replace or not lol.

Has any one wondered about the thermals of the cards? noticed how most cards are of three fan design not to many two fan designs thinking the thermals on these new cards are going to be hot.

3080 is 320W

Yeah the seasonic adapter is a much better idea, it goes all the way back to the PSU as a single lead.

Yeah and that is not overclocked as well. There are plenty of cards out there with 3 x 8 pin connectors so in theory they can draw 500w.

Along with my 628W cpu I am at 1128W before i add the other components lmao.

Not much of a difference between the quoted TDP for the 3080, and the 300W TDP for a 2080Ti Gaming X Trio (ref: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-RTX-2080-Ti-GAMING-X-TRIO/Specification). I was worried a 3080 would heat my room more than the Gaming X did (before I had to return it), but I think it won't even be noticeable.
