Anyone else wish there was a 16GB 3080 for around £799 ?

Would any of you guys be willing to pay £799 for a 16GB 3080 over £649 for the 10GB 3080

Yes as has been mentioned in the ampere thread, the in stock thread, the "is 10gb enough" thread, and every other thread regarding the 30 series.

Apparently they're developing a 3080 with several micro SD card slots, so you can upgrade the vram when you need to / or can afford to.

I'm going to try and run with a 3080 10GB unless AMD and benchmarks give me pause between now and EVGA preorders, I think that the money I save on paying for a 3090 means I can update at the next refresh or pay for most of my 4K HDMI 2.1 monitor upgrade I'm planning as well once I see one that is out and good. So it may be that I get the 3080 Ti as well :D:D:D

I think £150 for an extra 8GB is pretty steep, tbh.

If AMD releases some competitive 16GB cards, you can bet that the 3080 Super will take the same price spot (give or take) as the stingy 10GB version.

£799, or £999 if asus have one available.

I note that asusrep hasn't posted again, wonder if he'll post any more?

GDDR6X will not be cheap like DDR4. Likely $15 per GB based on GDDR6 costing $11 per GB recently.

To add more would require a double-sided board, no evidence until tear down if the cards have the solder pads on the back or need a redesign. Or they may be waiting for availability of 2GB chips which micron recently announced which would simplify designs.

If they don't add a full 10GB it will impact bandwidth for some or all memory depending how it's implemented.

Been happily gaming at 4k with 8GB of GDDR6, I'll be just fine with 10 of 6X. I don't like making up issues where they don't exist.
