NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Of course they all are under NDA, Nvidia will have these in the hands of all the big hardware you tubers ready for launch hype.

I’m expecting a video to drop from every single one come the 14th with another round on the 17th with perhaps the exception of Linus in the second round. I’d only expect him to cover the FE.

RTX3090 has a 384 bit bus,so unless they do the weird GTX970 thing, its going to be 6GB multiples of VRAM AFAIK.

If AMD can actually compete, nothing stopping them dropping an RTX3080TI 11GB/12GB in the next few months. They have many options though. Samsung 7NM EUV next year,is good enough for large IBM Power based CPUs. So Nvidia could make a 7NM EUV refresh late next year or early 2022,with more VRAM.

normal release schedule for the xx80ti is not a few months, so would be interesting if they did that.

I am a bit annoyed they didn't release the xx80ti off the bat but maybe its just to catch the few suckers who will get a 3090.

and all the people buying a 3080 who would have bought a 3080ti for a bit extra ;)

Also dont judge, as I'm returning to pc.

But is 1440p ultra gfx better looking then xbox one x/series x 4k at lower settings. Starting to get buyers remorse on my new monitor lol (pre 3 series announcement)

It's probably supply I think and costs. We need reviews to compare power consumption and performance/watt of the RTX3080 and RTX3090. If the RTX3080 is close in power consumption, its probably using very leaky dies, and the RTX3090 top tier dies. GDDR6X probably costs more than GDDR6 too,and its meant to have lower power consumpion. So it could be Nvidia launches it in a few months, but needs to collect better quality chips for the model.

They will also want to hold back, and see what AMD has on offer. For instance the GTX980TI was apparently priced "well" because Nvidia thought the Fury X might be better than it was.

Yes and don't forget the extra framerate and control options.
You can also use it on a 4k TV, I will be using a 3080 for 4k/60 (on a 120hz tv but expect 60hz on demanding next gen games, which in my experience is enough for controller games) and 1440/144

And will a 3080 work with a Freesync monitor?

Sadly I think 4k looks better than 1440p.

Maybe you'd be better off with a 4k/120hz screen like the LG OLED CX?

I was all set to pick up a next gen console but now I'm not sure if I should build a pc instead. I sold my last gaming pc in January and have only been gaming on my laptop since. So realistically I'm looking at £600 for a console or around £1700 to build a good pc with a 3080. The advantage with the pc is that I already own loads of games and have Xbox games pass.

Some very valid points. For instance the 3070 is at a major bandwidth disadvantage to the 2080ti - so not only are Nvidia's numbers cherry picked, but over time the gap between the 2080ti and 3070 will get smaller and even go negative as the 2080ti overtakes it again as the 3070's really low bandwidth will come back to haunt it

Yes, of course 1440p at Ultra settings looks better than 4k at Medium settings if you are talking about graphical fidelity and detail.

I have both a 1440p 144hz monitor and a 4k 60hz monitor as what resolution you use and is most suitable really depends on the game you are playing.

10 year warranty they are good ones for sure. over past 2-3 months they has been a big shortage of PSUS I struggled to get mine and when i did i paid over £110 for it!

Seasonic another good brand some of there stuff they offer like 12 year warranty.

I did buy a brand new EVGA gold rated and it was faulty out the box :(
why is everyone saying there is a big shortage of PSU's?? I just picked up a RM850x no problem, several vendors selling it at RRP. Plus loads of other choices too. Im really at a loss as to why I keep reading there is a shortage??

In the previous few hundred pages there was quite a bit of "the FE design is meh"
Once the price was revealed, out come the adoring fans.
And i meant the 3000 series design - not previous ones.

I like the FE design as well as the AIB ones.

Fair enough, I hadn't really followed a lot of thread till release but to me the design for the latest FE is classy looking and most I should really have said for AIB are not so and look cheap and tacky. Not one for LED lights or flashy screens/logos being needed for me.

Tbh I have had hard time finding a decent SFX psu in stock that has been at RRP so yeah. And for months and months there has been dozens that are out of stock and supply that does come in seems to be very low volume.

PSU prices generally seem to have risen overal.
