Maybe they'll change their mind tomorrow after all, what with Microsoft getting all the focus at the moment.

Still can't see it happening as they've only revealed that weird junior version price. Assuming they are waiting for MS to show first.

You can pre-order it, just without knowing the price.

Well no - you can pre-order a pre-order, which is not the same thing.
All the retailers who have been and still are offering pre-orders now - they have absolutely no idea what their initial allocation of units will be.
If you pre-order a console it is with the expectation of getting at release.
Take "Retailer A". They offer pre-orders and have been for months. You go along, pay your whatever and feel smug - all purchased.
Then Retailer A finds they have taken 10,000 console pre-orders, but their initial allocation is 5000 with another 5000 to come a few weeks later. Suddenly half of their pre-order customers are not going to get their consoles at release.

Any retailer with integrity is currently not taking pre-orders and will only do so when they know their allocation, so they only take pre-orders with "guaranteed release day" until their initial allocation has dried up.

I get what you're saying but personally haven't ever been let down by shopto so I have no qualms with their 'integrity'. If I don't get one so be it, I'm not going to have a temper tantrum over a console.
So yes, you're right there is no 'proper' pre order currently.

It's gotta be around then anyway, would be nice if it was earlier in the week though.

XSS/XSX November 10th
COD BLOPS November 13th
AC Valhalla November 17th
Cyberpunk November 19th

PS5 ???

I would be surprised if it came out AFTER BLOPS, given Sony's marketing deal with them.

Christ, this radio silence is deafening. I know I sound like a whiney internet keyboard warrior, but pre-order invites being sent with no price announcement really doesn;t sit well with me. Really takes the **** out of consumers and their patience.

I think they might be trying to work out how the hell they counter the latest Xbox announcements and still remain competitive and profitable!

EA Play moving onto GamePass is going to be a huge kick in the nuts, as that could be a respectable proportion of third party game sales gone for Sony..........unless they have something similar up their sleave?

Whaaaaat? Where've you read that? Very interesting if true.

Sorry, that's not to say EA Play won't be available elsewhere..........just that Xbox have included EA Play in their GamePass subscription at no extra cost.
If you have both an Xbox and PS, then why would you buy FIFA on PS if you already get it under your GP subscription elsewhere?

I found the page. Still a very interesting move. EA Play could move into PS Now on PS5 as well. Now all we need is Ubisoft to bring Uplay+ in to the fold. And maybe Activision/Blizzard.

Right now, it feels like PS5 is just going to be a first party-only machine for me.
