Graphics Card GTX or RTX

Hi all

I am looking at replacing my GTX 1650 2gb with either:

GTX 1660 Super 6gb
RTX 2060 Super 8gb
RTX 2070 8gb

I currently have a 300W power supply so will upgrade that to a Corsair RM650

can anyone help me with the pros and cons of each card?

1. Wrong forum section.
2. What do you use the PC for?
3. If gaming, which games and what resolution?
4. What are your other specs?
5. Why don't you wait and get a RTX3070?

What resolution are you playing at? And what sorta games do you play?

As for the other items:
2. Use it for gaming mostly
3. Call of duty, Fortnite, running 1080p but would like to be able to run better
4. I5 processor 2.8ghz with 16mb ram 1tb HDD looking to swap out for an SSD
5. The cost of the newest card I want to upgrade the graphics, PSU and SSD so need to keep cost reasonable.

What i5 model is it? That could be anywhere up to 11 years old

Presume you meant 16GB RAM too. Definitely get an SSD!

Dependent on your overall budget, the Nvidia 3070 due release early October would be a good next-gen upgrade if within reach.

But if that's a bit too rich and you need something more affordable, I'd suggest holding off the GPU upgrade until October time as AMD announcing their next-gen RX 6000 GPUs on 28th Oct, so prob release November time hopefully.

As above, hard to tell the specifics of the rest of the system. If you're going higher than 1080, into 1440p and beyond, the GPU starts doing most of the grunt work, so I'd be looking at a 2070 at least, but a 2070 super would last a little longer.

As said, if you can wait, the RTX3070 is rumoured to come in only £100 or so more expensive than what they're asking for the standard 2070 currently.
