NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Looks like it is another couple of sites flashed up on my phone yesterday showing pictures of small mining farms with rows of 3080's. Looks like they are offering to pay over the odds just to get the 3080's in Asia and suppliers are letting them go to cash in. Dont hold your breath to get a 3080 on 17th September ! Good luck to ya !

This is fake news - these are all Inno3D cards - all in their testing lab. Confirmed by Inno3D by email to videocardz (check out their Twitter).

One person sees image, speculates about mining, someone else sees it, publishes lies, everyone else sees those lies and republishes on their site, some with references, some without, and then we get this avalanche of fake news.

they don't look like mining rigs as it looks like only 1 GPU per board - miners would have then slotted in next to each other running off pcie extensions, as others have mentioned they look like GPU test beds, not mining rigs

Not mining rigs, more fake news being spread.

It's Inno 3D's own testing lab.

With having a 7700k at 4.9 would I get a bottleneck with having 3090? Maybe by that question you may realise I don't have a clue what I'm talking about but hope it makes sense.

That’s not the point though is it. One of the main reasons I thought might as well go 3080 over the 3070 is the excellent performance numbers given by digital foundry and by Jensen. Not then settling for decent.

Jensen did say 2x faster than 2080 and those numbers pretty much fall in like with that. A lot of DF results show around 80-100% faster. A 2080Ti/3070 for example is around 30-35% faster than 2080 at 4k.

So 3080 should be around 50% faster or more than 3070.

If that turns out to be true, I am will be very happy :)

I am going to be interested to see if a single 3090 can beat my RTX Titan SLI SOTTR score at 2160p.

That will really show how fast the 3090 is in both Ray Tracing and normal graphics.

so seeing as its sooon, how much does everyone think the 3070 will beat the 2080ti at in the hardware unboxed games testing when they run their full list of games. will it be neck and neck or will we actually see say a 10% gain overall when averaged out.

personally im expecting around a 5% win, if its much lower it ends up being in the land of random variances which means its a draw.

placibg my bets now, the 3070 only beats the 2080ti in rayvtracing or dlss, nothing else

Sorry but wut?

All the people and marketing gloating how wonderful this card is and it will just end up being only 30 percent faster like every gen update is sad.

I got duped into the hype if its not at least 80 percent faster

I'm a bit confused by your logic.
There was little hype before the update from Jensen.
Then he told everyone it was 2x faster than the 2080 card.

If history always showed us that next gen is only around 30% faster than previous gen, why on earth would you have expected 2x as fast as a 2080Ti?
