Should have sold it before Nvidia’s presentation thenCompared to the £1200 they bought them for, it's cheap![]()
placibg my bets now, the 3070 only beats the 2080ti in rayvtracing or dlss, nothing else
3070 will choke on the VRAM so hard, it's gonna be funny to see the complaints a year from now. That really is more of a 1080p/1440p high refresh-rate card than one for pure IQ 4K60.
anyone buying a 3070 for 4k is being idiotic.
Agreed, I'm still not sure the 3080 can do it, my 1080ti is struggling in division 2 at 35fps so if the 3080 isn't twice as fast after I've seen reviews on Monday then I'm out again, waste of time and money being on the edge, I was only upgrading for 4k 60fps gaming but it's looking a bit close to the edge on some titles.
so seeing as its sooon, how much does everyone think the 3070 will beat the 2080ti at in the hardware unboxed games testing when they run their full list of games. will it be neck and neck or will we actually see say a 10% gain overall when averaged out.
personally im expecting around a 5% win, if its much lower it ends up being in the land of random variances which means its a draw.
Lol looking at the graph it looks twice as fast on where they placed the 3080.Yep, Jonney is confused again
Here you go:

Look forward to your reply
Funny thing here is, you was expecting the 3080 to be twice the performance of the 2080Ti, but thought lets wait for AMD as they may be able to beat it or have any impact on it in shape or form? As you was saying you are waiting on AMD. Lol![]()
so if the 3080 isn't twice as fast
Agreed, I'm still not sure the 3080 can do it, my 1080ti is struggling in division 2 at 35fps so if the 3080 isn't twice as fast after I've seen reviews on Monday then I'm out again, waste of time and money being on the edge, I was only upgrading for 4k 60fps gaming but it's looking a bit close to the edge on some titles.
Well seeing that using cherry picked games by Nvidia in their presentation and half of the games used were tested with RT and DLSS where the 3070 should be a lot faster than the 2080ti and Nvidia then only claimed it was 0.1% faster on average, I can see people are going to be disappointed then,.
I expect the 3070 to be up to 20% in some RT and DLSS games and to be 20% slower in some none RT/DLSS games and overall across all games due to the lack of RT/DLSS games, its a 5% win fro the 2080ti.
That will be interesting indeed. The Teclab leaked benches show the 3080 putting up 11k score in Port Royal rayvtraced test - 25% faster than a stock Titan RTX
Lol looking at the graph it looks twice as fast on where they placed the 3080.
But what about the 3090? Is that gunna be near twice as fast?
Lol, so you saw that graph before and that is how you came to the conclusion that nvidia said 3080 is gonna be twice as fast as a 2080Ti? Haha.Lol looking at the graph it looks twice as fast on where they placed the 3080.
But what about the 3090? Is that gunna be near twice as fast?
if the 10GB vram is not likely a bottleneck at 1440p for upcoming games i will likely go for the MSI 3080, if it shows a good 20+% boost over the 2080ti.
Looking forward to those hardware unboxed vram tests
why im still on a 1440p screen, id like a ultrawide or a 4k screen either way but cant do both a new screen and gpu just starts getting too much money for the gains.
on the reddit q and a nvidia did state the 3070 is faster in rt and none rt titles. so if they where lying on that they will get reamed big time by the community, and as its an official post by a engineer i could see someone trying to sue for false advertisement.
Unless it’s absolute max settings then it should do with ease. 3080 should be nearly twice as fast as 1080Ti.
Not many games my 2080Ti can’t do 4k 60hz on unless I’m maxing every setting available. And even then only the poorly optimised and really demanding titles can’t manage it such as Assassins creed or rdr2.
I want at least 50% above my 2080Ti to be able to run all new games at 4k 60hz maxed otherwise I’ll be sticking with what I have.
