NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

You need to rerun SOTTR using the settings I posted earlier in the thread.

If you don't use RTX then yes you will get a higher fps but that defeats the point of buying a 3000 series card.

I am Sorry but I don't see the point SMAA4x at 4k is pointless why would anyone use that at 4k the higher the resolution the less AA is needed, fine at 1080p smaa4x would be good but at 4k your cutting your fps in half.
Also Smaa4x & TAA effects texture clarity the most something I bet is very important to most people.
Standard SMAA is better way to go less of a performance hit, good aa, Less effects on textures.

4k Max RTX on - 58 ( Ray-Traced Shadows Ultra )
4k Max RTX Off SMAA DX12 - 39 ( Ray-Traced Shadows Ultra )
4k Max RTX Off SMAA DX11 - 55 ( Cannot do )
4k Max RTX Off TAA DX12 - 38 ( Ray-Traced Shadows Ultra )
4k Max RTX Off SMAA4x DX12 - 27 ( Ray-Traced Shadows Ultra )

Now be clear i'm not getting a 3000 card, not till later when games need it or any AMD if it is any good which I don't think will be.

I ran a load of tests if anyone needs any other games ones let me know Link Here

Having a look at the EVGA site, and forums and nothing for a 12pin there yet. Hopefully soon, since I'll be getting the 3090, it would be nice to get one ahead of time.

No they're production samples. No one has any for sale yet that I know of, not the PSU manufacturers anyway.

Corsair have said theres will be for sale on launch next week.

Think moddiy apparently has a custom one made, not seen it though, just someone mentione dit.

Well at the speed the pound is tanking this week, I am not surprised cards keep going up in price. Its dropped 4% in the last 5 days alone and is continuing to fall.

I can the 3080 being the same price as the 2080tis were by launch date!!!!

They could have put it virtually anywhere on this back plate.

Not really to meet PCIe spec there's almost no clearance above the back of the card, you'd need to do something weird like punch a hole in the PCB and have the power plug embedded in it, but then actually operating the clip in the side of the plug to secure the power cables wouldn't be usable. Nor can it go anywhere near the front of the card, the PCB stops short about 2/3rds of the length of the card to get the heatsink and fan running past the PCB dragging air through the fins. That leaves you with few options, and I guess even less when you consider where you want your VRMs, how close to the memory and GPU do you want them. It's not an ideal placement but if something has to give in the design, the look of the power cables vs performance or cooling should go first.

the power dongle is bafflingly ugly / too short
im assuming the logo lights up? if so the dongle is in the way of the bit that lights up?

also what are the two screw holes on the end of the card?

Fe\reference cards usually have those holes, it's so companies like Dell etc can add a supporting bracket to the end of the card as their cases usually have slot somewhere this can slide into to make the card better secured for shipping purposes.

Yeah, you would think that would have looked better to hide the cable underneath. If its location has nothing to do with the overall cooling solution, then its going to need some interesting cable management.

Not a change that the 3090 will be able to run max settings without DLSS.

Here is one I just did using a single RTX Titan at stock.

You can see the settings I used above, have a go yourself.

As I said above the 3090 would have to be 3X as fast as a 2080 Ti to get acceptable fps on those settings, this is not going to happen.

In benchmarks the 2080ti is already getting 38fps at 4k with rsytracing on though :/

The 3080 is meant to be what 40% faster or so which would get it close. The RAM is not relevant in this title.

When is the 3080 FE available to buy on Nvidia?

Not heard exact timings. Some said midnight but it’d have to be a regional/timed launch which don’t think been done before.

Could be same as partner cards, 2pm? Would be great if anyone had anything concrete.

My main interest in 30 series is what it might do to the used price of the 2060 or 2060 Super level cards. I was all set to get a 1660 Super but now hoping for something a bit more in the great sell off next month.
