NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

So Nvidia want everyone to upgrade to 4k monitors to justify a GPU upgrade, on top of maybe needing a new PSU to deal with the 30-40% higher TDP :p

Not really. I'm just saying in a high end GPU review, in order to actually utilise the GPU you need to remove the CPU from the equation, by using higher resolutions.

If your looking for high fps in 1080p, then a 3080 isn't really what you should be looking at, it'll be held back by the CPU before you see what it could really do at 1080p if a CPU was out that was actually fast enough.

I cba to re-watch his video, but did JayZTwoCents say something about wanting to build his own system around a FE 3090. Normally he’s a huge water cooler junkie, right(?), so I’m reading into this that the cooling is on point with the 3080 FE.

Thought?

Exactly, he's obviously done the benchmarks before he did that video so he's clearly happy with the temps... he kinda said it without breaking any NDA

Oh link please? The top end 3080 are struggling to go past 1800 so would be interested in seeing that the 3090s overclock much better despite having a lower starting point.

google it. not gonna post but should be there wiith

aorus rtx 3090 xtreme

at the bottom listings

should oof just added a bit more for 2000hz lol

********

mmm scratch that, seems there listings are all over the place

It’s amazing how quickly it went from “twice the performance” to “30% is not bad”. Hopefully Monday will bring better results.
It never was twice the performance of the 2080Ti though, it was the 2080. Also that was up to.

The slide does not say up to, it says "Twice the performance of 2080"

Granted on the Info Splash screen it didn't but on the graphs it says "up to 2x 2080"

I guess it depends which one you go by hehe

Can't seem to upload it.

And it is. In at least one game with certain settings which result in the 2080 under-performing by 20%. Thats all Nvidia need to show.

Its like if ferrari brought out a car that claimed to be twice as fast as a Bugatti veyron. So long as there was some test somewhere like it was only twice as fast on an ice lake, it wouldnt matter. They could legally claim its twice as fast.

Even if its 0-60 time and top speeds were only 10% faster.

4K is mainstream... Even the new consoles are 4k60 enabled........

1080P is extreme peasant level gaming. 1440P is border-level peasant level what with the new consoles making 4K gaming ubiquitous.

4k is mainstream for consoles not the PC world though.

the number of competent 4k monitors for gaming is miniscule and cost and arm and a leg.

Thank god for the LG 48" OLED TV.
