If AMD new flagship GPU happens to be faster then a 3090 and they sell it for around £700 to £800 what happens to the 3090 second hand prices :D

Some people will say that will never happen as Nvidia is far bigger & has far more money , But so was intel and looked what happened ;)

Only if the new AMD flagship completely destroys the 3090 at a lower price.

If it does, I'll be VERY surprised.

Intel sat on there hands and got complacent after C2D (based on the good P3 architecture) success brought them back after ballsup thermal throttling P4, Nvidia have not.

No, because the floor set by miners is higher. And then no again, because the floor set by DL/ML researchers is even higher than that one.

Yes there very high Chances it not going to happen, But then again no one knows what GPU's AMD going to release..

whilst I expect big gains from amd I can’t see them beating at 3080 never mind going for 3090 power.

but for argument sake that they do match or beat a 3090

why would amd sell a 3090 spec card for half the price? Amd have shown with the 5700 and xt that they WILL match nvidia prices so why change that now why sell a card at 700-800 when they can for 1.3-1.4k ? Come on amd are are a company not a charity:)

To get the most market share away from Nvidia like there doing with there CPU's

Maybe not half the price but just a lot cheaper..

show me we’re amd are doing this. Amd have matched intel at every point r3 upto r7 for first 2 generations and acctully put comparable prices and model stack across the range r3 to r7 vs i3 to i7 and then intel come with a i9 at 450-500 pounds amd did the same.

there gpu 5700 xt is priced against a 2070 which it was against at the time and that’s more telling then any of there cpu line. Amd will maximise profits for future products and I expect the same again if there big Navi 6800xt is close to 3080 in performance it will be priced at 699 if it’s close to 3090 it will be 1.2k+ if they can only match a 3070 then 499 price point

don’t expect charity or massive price cuts from amd that’s bad business altho good for the consumers:) I expect a price war after realise if stock is plentiful but don’t expect amd to be cheaper or a lot cheaper out the gate

The rumour mill is in over drive at the moment, I don't really know what to believe. :(

My gut feeling is telling me to wait for the official RDNA2 announcement before making any GPU purchasing decisions.
Being a early adopter may not be the smart move.

For this to happen, AMD's flagship would need to blow the 3090 out of the water, as they haven't actually ever managed to do this like ever then I think you may see a 3090 for 500 maybe in 2023 at earliest.
