For sure, in theory cards are coming out soon around the £500 mark that might match the 2080Ti performance (ie 3070) but as suggested, lets see how easy they are to get a hold of. Even if they do turn out to be plentiful, I don't feel like I've been conned or anything picking up a 2080Ti at that price.
And for me, the above poster is right, I can stretch to £500 when I think about selling my existing card, but to drop an extra £150 on top for performance I'm not really going to 'need' is wasteful. I'm not exactly made of money!

Had quite a few 450 offers for mine too. But as it's watercooled, I've turned them down. Might be tempted by high 400's if it was on air.

Could you just put the original cooler back on, sell at £450 and sell the waterblock separately?

Really did consider that. It's what I normally do. But if it doesnt sell, I'd have to put waterblock back on again. Bit of a faff. And it would be awkward to use in the mean time.

As someone who was recently looking at 2080tis, I was definitely searching for air-cooled models and not water cooled when looking at preowned. Perhaps have a listing for the item air-cooled, and if it sells at a price you are happy with you can do the change of coolers?
Madness to pay more then £400 for a 2080ti or £280 for a 2080s when you'll be able to get a brand new 3070/3060 for £460/300 brand new with full warranty, new tech, free game, better RT in a few weeks.
Lots being flogged at the moment and ampere isn't even here yet, can see them dropping in price even more when the cards are actually out and we have the consoles/AMD gpus coming too which could see them drop even more.

Not everyone wants to ,or can afford to, spend £500 plus for a GPU. An EVGA with warranty for couple of years on 2080ti is fine by me. Be a good upgrade from my 5 yr old 980ti. I can afford the £700 ish for 3080 but don't want to spend that much like I didn't spend £1k plus for a 2080ti. Actually, just sold one of my motorbikes so got £s for a 3090 yet not interested. The prices 2080supers are going for is madness around £350 to £400.
If a 2080Ti has no valid Warranty and Receipt from the Original Retailer; I don't think it's worth more than 40% of the cost for a brand new 3070 (£180). Even with more memory, 3070 has more efficient cores and better RT.
Even if a lot of these listings claim they have warranty; some brands don't allow the transfer, not to mention some retailers might not honour it as well. AHEM ZOTAC.
In the UK all warranty claims go through the original authorised retailer; which is why a receipt is 100% necessary. But Ebay sellers who are not the first owner of the card themselves usually don't have this.
With the failure rates of 2080Tis and just jerks baking their dead cards to make it work a bit longer so they can sell it; it's a huge risk to buy from anywhere other than Ebay where buyers have 30 days to stress test.
Also some manufacturers do not allow for the opening of the card or replacement of thermal paste; due to the warranty void if broken sticker on the back of cards screw heads. It's hard to tell if the card never had that sticker hence it doesn't matter or if the seller broke it and took it off.
The warranty process isn't what people usually consider, especially if they never had to go through it themselves but it's important as well. No matter how much a seller insist their card is "AN ABSOLUTE BEAST OF A CARD" it doesn't mean there's no risk of issues down the line.

I'm not planning on selling mine at all, but if I did then I'd wait until the dust settled. Current prices and opinions are all based around one slide and a bit of waffle from Jensen.
Let's see what things look like in a few weeks.

So that 2080Ti i picked up for £500? It arrived today, I plugged it in and am loving it. Yes I also have the receipt, and the seller has offered to help with any warranty returns if necessary.
I realise it is possible I could have got a ‘better deal’ if the 3070s can be picked up in a month (and this fact seems to anger some people) but I am sitting here enjoying this card very much. 144 FPS in apex legends at 1440p, GPU usage at 70% or so.. beautiful. It’s so smooth compared to the 1080 I came from.

I've done the same. Got one with a block on for less than £500.
If the 3070 really is faster I will eat my hat. And I mean really faster, in everything. You know? all of the stuff that matters and not grainly early RT.
Have a feeling the prices will bounce back a bit once the reviews are out for the new cards.
