NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

CPU looked like it was getting toasty from the air coming off the through part of the GPU cooler?

The temperature shown is at the crosshair point which is light red but the hottest parts have actually gone white well before everything else and are probably over 80C . The fan can be seen spinning up right at the start of the video at 35C but whoever wrote the article didn't even notice it and thinks the fan was off the whole time .

those are different arguments, the card should be able to justify purchase purely on the basis of traditional raster performance as well.

Exactly I agree but I don't think it will, Think Nvidia is hellbent on RT and DLSS which while are good technologies but not for today, unless there's a big improvement on rasterization which I highly doubt going off what's already been leaked it's hard to justify even coming from a 1080ti and certainly not a 2080ti

Amazingly still not much has been leaked today other than the IR temp of a card, But it does make you wonder if this delaying of the benchmarks was deliberate.

As a 2080ti owner I really hope that my card is devalued into the ground and made completely worthless, but my expectation is that the new tech will be good for high res gaming high FPS and that my minimum frames will still be limited by my CPU.

Expecting much the same as every new generation tends to offer, but in this case a better value proposition as that probably all that nvidia can offer to be competitive (hence pivoting their marketing around that fact) but those who don't see what is wrong with a statement like "twice as fast" given how many different ways to measure that exist, are probably going to be a bit dissapointed.

Have they said when the Founders edition will be available to order?

Is it 2pm on Thurs? 12am ? different time? Has this been announced by anyone?

Or has anyone ordered in the past, for example 2080 etc. and can remember the time you could order?

The fe is earlier for reviews this time around. And possibility availability by a day or so if they wanted to. If they're gonna bump the partner card reviews they might well bump them on order time.

I'm sure a 2080/2080ti will be fine with hitting 30fps with nice shadows and reflections ;)
Nope that cant handle 4k and 2080ti was not enough of a jump from titan to fork out 1.1k + block drain loop ect. It's a BIG job in my pc with external radiator. My loop takes almost 2l of coolant :D
