OcUK Ampere RTX3000 series review thread

It's still half the price of it. Even if it just equalled the 2080ti I'd say that was pretty good going. You can see from my sig that I don't even own an nvidia product so this is just me calling it how I see it.
I don't really disagree with you it's still a lot of performance and it's at half the price of the old best, I sold my V64 to upgrade to the new cards already, so for better or worse I'm still getting it, but I think on a pure "new arch + node" evaluation, it just doesn't really live up to the hype. My bigger hope is that once undervolting is possible then the 3080 will stretch its legs better.
This is what I mean about OC:

Having double the power of my current 1080ti is certainly a good selling point, just catching up with the avalanche of reviews now.

I was thinking that as well, looks approximately twice as fast as my 1080Ti. It'll be a nice upgrade and a chance to see RTX in action first hand.

Its not 30% though is it

Perhaps not across the board but in some scenarios it’s substantially faster. Even so, a faster cars for half the price of the previous Ti. Sounds excellent to me. Perhaps people’s expectations were too high.

Jay's review of this card was absolutely ******* awful.

Can't believe he was coming out with "Up to 90% performance increase over the 2080", was cringeworthy nVidia marketing level stuff.

Great upgrade from 1080 Ti !!

Those who got 1080 Ti at launch and held on this long have done really well.

I've had a million cards since 1080 Ti :o
