The card is 2 slots thick though, and only 26.6 cm long.

Blower coolers work brilliantly in vertical cases like the Silverstone FT series, though I think 2 slots is too slim. Bring on a 3080 Super with a 3 or 4 slot version.

Blower coolers are also great for server racks.

Paying @GIGA-Man

I don't think anyone ever released a 3 or 4 slot blower cooler...
Like you say i bet a 4 slot blower cooler would work great in my FT02 case

I might get a pair. Ideal for a machine learning workstation, so long as the blower can keep them both running at 350W when slotted next to each other. Love the idea of having 48GB of addressable vram over nvlink!

Hold on, the return of the 290X Uber mode:

That's hilarious, thanks for posting that, really made me laugh, cheered me up a lot :D ...especially 'uber mode', visions of people strapping their cases down like a load of freight.

Reminds me of the Nvidia GTX 480 I had years and years ago, the Fermi was a hot card and the one I had, an Asus model had a blower cooler, actually the last card I had with a blower as I swore never again after that ...and that video really demonstrates why :D

This card will be perfect for people who want to block this card.

step 1: get the card
step 2: take the cooler off
step 3: throw said cooler in the bin
step 4: apply waterblock - done

Actually, scratch that. The dual (yes, DUAL) 8 pins are on the back of the card, not the top, so this isn't even a reference PCB.
