If there are some nice trainers I like however they are £200 I don't jump on the internet and complain. I dont buy them.

Are you still here? When did I say I won't buy a £70 game? I was talking about how many companies claim they have to raise prices due to the cost of developing games but many developers add in mtx which take very little time to create(skins etc.) and make them massive profits. Which can be in the millions and billions but yet they still need to raise the price of the game even though there are making a bucket load of money.

For me, this is the reason the disc version of the console makes better financial sense. You can recoup the difference over time by buying and trading second hand games.

For sure. I rarely buy games new and it's always nice to know if it turns out to be pants I can sell it on.

I'm still here yes. Companies can and will charge what ever they want. Neither you or anyone else is gonna change that. Pull yer trousers up and stop being so bloody negative.

Are you a developer? You know how much time/effort goes into all facets of a games development? If you are a game development expert then I bow down to your clearly superior knowledge.

Somebody (A real person) will spend their days graft creating these add ons/skins. Their time must be paid for. In a world where people expect more and more money (wages) how can anyone expect things to stay the same?

It is surprising it’s still so cheap. I remember paying £50 for N64 legend of Zelda, and that was well over 20 years ago!!!

I can't see in his post where he claimed he was going to change anything

And negative? Superior knowledge? That'll be yourself then going by the wording and nature of your own post.

Complaining is being negative? Is it not? He's complaining about the cost of a game so in turn is being negative?

As for my knowledge of game development? I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest old Soulja know just as much as me about game development (Which isn't too much I'll be honest).

I just love the "developers add in mtx which take very little time to create" line. It seems to be something the default comment on MTXs. When its a totally actually a holey inaccurate claim.

What are you rambling on about. Christ. I'm talking about companies that make millions and billions in profit but still want to charge more because of their greed and not just because it costs more to develop games. You're picking out parts and twisting what I'm saying.

So does it cost ea lots of time and money to sell fifa packs? Same with 2k and packs in nba? Do the fortnite devs spends months and millions on creating a skin?

No they do not. It's very little effort with huge rewards.

And you know this how? Through your past game development knowledge? Ah right ok. You are right and I am wrong.

So are you saying fifa/Nba packs and player skins take up a lot of time and money? Packs in games like fifa and nba won't take up any real time except for when they want to adjust the drop rate. Also tell me how much time a character skin takes to create compared to the rest of a games content such as huge levels, dialogue, missions etc. ..I'm guessing you'd say it's about equal.

Well yes. About 60% od devs programmers artists are contracted for the games development. Or the work is tendered and outsourced( usually a Canadian studio due to there tax breaks for industry stuff). Once the Co tract is done they move say a very small team on packs, skins, maps for final stages of the work. The core of the team moves on to the next mainstay game.

You don't think they recreate yearly games from scratch do you? They have very little hours of work put in for the yearly update. Even less so now as most of the engines in the games are finalised and will have most effects baked into them. Hence thing like th UE demo.

Someone that knows what they are talking about. Nice.

Cheers for this information.

Define a lot of money? If you got a small team (Say of 5?) thats gonna cost roughtly £100000 in wages a year to fund? Licensing, marketing, work location funding? That to me sounds like "a lot of money".
