You wont. When you see others, reviews, game reviews, the pretty graphics and new games to come for its feature over the next year. You'll be itching for the console. I've read these stories so many times.

Marketing and temptation is a powerful thing. People fold.

Well you were right. Kind of :)

I pre ordered the PS5 digital and a Series X.

I had a cut off in my mind for a press release for PS5 that announced price and release date. That came and went.

But when it was announced I just couldn't resist for the price. Im going to hide the PS5 behind my TV. Job done!

Genuinely the first time I have ever pre ordered consoles.

I seem to recall buying Goldeneye, Zelda and Mario 64 for £50 each at the likes of Electronics Boutique.

Turok was more expensive as it came with the RAM expansion pack (as did other games IIRC).

Ah fair enough. Tbh, games have been long over due a price increase anyway.. (not that I agree with it!) it’s just how it is now. Won’t put me off buying the blockbusters I really want to play. And hey.. always the option to wait for a sale or buy second hand I guess.

I keep hearing this, but weren’t games back in the mid/late 90’s / early 00’s roughly this price ? (Sega, SNES , n64 etc )

Games back then didn't have you buying skins that take an hour to make for £10 a pop. I could almost agree with a price rise if it wasn't for microtransactions/dlc in games of today.

No but games in the 90s were arguably shorter mostly. Some games took a while because the devs made them almost unfairly difficult (looking at you, ghouls and ghosts).

Development costs since then will be massively increased too, games are getting big name hollywood stars in them, which aint cheap either. So your £70 buys you at least 30-40hrs (and sometimes double that) and entertainment.

Still good value IMO.

I can understand games that SP games that don't have DLC/loot boxes charging a bit more if its actually a decent and long game but don't forget a lot of games today are also short. Many having 5 or 6 hour campaigns.

Look at how much fifa makes makes from packs yet they charge full price for the games. It's sickening.

Then you get games such as RDR2 (that was a very long game for me) and persona 5. Which both were very good value for money. I don’t tend to play games with loot boxes or skins etc, such as cod or fifa

Which is great and you don't mind paying extra for them but then you get nba 2k21 with its raised retail price and crippled my player mode that tries to push you into buying virtual currency to level up and what not.

That’s not on really especially if they’re charging £50-60 quid for it in the first place. But I guess that’s on EA. Their games are often filled with mtx

I never said that I did? I'm talking about the extra money they make from them yet they want to also charge more for the game.

Don't join a conversation when you don't know what you're on about.
If you aint happy with the price regardless then don't buy it. Its that simple. I know plenty of what I'm "on about". Microtransactions is an extra nicety for the devs. Games cost money to make. Better games cost more money.

Thanks for that captain obvious.

That's what I have a problem with. Companies putting prices up yet they are making billions from added content. If they aren't making that kind of money then I can understand why they need to raise prices.

If you plan on getting a PS5 this gen, get ready to bend over for Sony. :D

There are no plans currently to offer Marvel’s-Spider-Man: Remastered as a standalone. Players with a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 can purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered on PS5. Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 also will be backwards compatible on PS5.
