I for one welcome our new giant robot overlords

Is that not even free standing but connected to something behind ? I've yet to see a robot actually walk realistically

it's for Entertainment purposes. Gundam is HUGE in Japan and it'll be for a themepark, or it'll be used on a site owned by Bandai.

It's not the first time Japan has has a life sized Gundam Statue - the articulation is just a little more spectical.

I wouldn't be worried, all movement is pretty much time lapsed in those videos - it moves into the pose very slowly.

And yet my local shop cant even get its automatic doors to open reliably :D
 
It's scary to think someone or group wants to even make robots that size. I can only actually think of one reason at the moment why they doing that. Not for entertainment that's for sure.

Maybe they should've put it in the article or something.
