Got a Asus GeForce RTX 3090 ROG Strix Gaming OC on order (14:01:05), what PSU are people planning to use for this model especially given the 480W option. I currently have an i9 9900KS with Corsair 750W TX so was thinking of upgrading to a 1000W model.

I bought an asus Rog Strix Rtx 3090 24gb OC

24/09/2020 Order time 2:01pm. I was told that OC UK do not have these cards yet and when they receive their stock then they will send them out. 2-4 weeks. Whatever the time I hope I can get my card and crack on with editing. Really need it. FE sold out in 10 seconds

I personally always buy Seasonic! I get the platinum hybrid models where the fan barely runs. Only minor negative with Seasonic is the cables are a bit ugly, but I made my own custom cables from scratch last time using supplies from MDPC-X.

Seasonic are usually what get rebadged for the high end Corsairs etc too (amongst other brands high end options), so if you are getting a high end Corsair then you are more than likely getting a solid Seasonic unit with a Corsair badge and some slightly different cables.
 
I already have a Corsair RM850x that I intend to keep. Should be more than adequate. I've bought a 3rd PCIe power cable since I'm getting the Strix OC, but that's about it.
 
Oh dear lord. Just heard that Fortnite is getting RTX ray-tracing and DLSS. I'm pretty sure I will NOT be soiling my 3090 with that!!! :D

I think on the Linus review we mentioned that their 850W test bench PSU was struggling with the 3090. Thats why I was thinking go for a 1000W model. I think for me with a 750W its going to be pushing it
 
All installed and fitted and it just passed a stress test. Got to say, the sheer weight of the thing was a bit disconcerting during the install.
 
Missed out yesterday- mainly due to work and not being free at 2pm to get in early. Everywhere is out of stock now so I'm debating which preorder queue to join. From reading reviews it seems most cards are 1-2fps apart across the board. Having sold my 2080ti at a decent price a month ago I've been without a GPU since so keen to get one when I can. My preference would be a Strix but I assume that's the biggest queue. Any suggestions for a shorter wait? I'm not really fussed on brand this time around. Thanks

Should I keep my order and wait for restock or cancel my order? I'm starting to think I'll never get my hands on the 3090 haha... Ordered my MSI 3090 Gaming x Trio, paid for it and they dont even have it....
