Just heard from OCUK staff that next week they will be releasing their order queue from their own database. Appreciate the effort you guys went through to generate a list though. 2-4 weeks cards will come. Fingers crossed for all, especially those who managed to order in fast time

Gigabyte have gone with POSCAPS on the Eagle and Gaming OC cards which are the lower spec/lower end of the market 3090 cards. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have done the same with their premium spec model which is the Aorus Master/Xtreme. I can’t find any info on what’s on the Aorus cards at the moment, so as it stands I would just hold fire and see what’s fed back In the coming days.

This is exactly what I just said. ;)

I went with a Zotac Trinity, simply as I felt that was the best potential to get a card earlier after Gibbo confirmed what was in stock.

Bank verification and no signal made that a nono.

Normally I would have gone with an MSI or Strix card so worried about the Poscaps now!? Where do I check the board specs?

I posted the list further up the thread. Zotac Trinity is all POSCAPs I’m afraid. But bear in mind this is yet to be 100% proven to be the source of the issue. So sit tight and keep your ears peeled.

They aren't POSCAPS, and on the Gigabyte cards they are apparently higher capacity (good thing).

People parrotting things they don't understand really isn't helping here. Watch the buildzoid video for an actual understanding of what these capacitors are and do; beyond that it's still not 100% clear what's actually causing these crashes.

Oh man. This release has just been nothing but disappointing. Not to mention stock availability, I now how to worry about the card potentially being buggered.

Good choice! Have the same card on order. The way I see it, 4k on my CX and VR on my index needs all the frames it can get, so 10-20% (depending on the game) will be most welcome. Plus, I really don't like the idea of only 10GB. It's obvious it's inadequate as Nvidia have plans for a 20GB 3080. That will indeed be the sweet spot, but could be many months down the line.

Seems there are many, many Asus orders for the 3090 Strix OC, and probably about to be significantly more, since the whole capacitator issue has come to light (the asus card having the most expensive and best filtering available).

I'm running a Rift S so I don't have as high a resolution headset as yourself, but it still requires more juice than my 1080 can ever provide for a truly immersive experience. I'm looking forward to cranking up the supersampling/mods/etc to see how far I can go with it! Saints and Sinners for example brings my 1080 to it's knees and I have to run with a mix of med/low settings.

As soon as I saw the 3080 only had 10GB on board I was rather disappointed to be honest as I know that an install of either Fallout 4 VR or Skyrim VR with some hefty mods will pretty much use up close to if not more depending how many 4k texture packs are installed.

I went for the Strix not so much because of the POSCAPS/MLCC debate that's raging as I only found out about that this morning, but rather that every bit of Asus kit I've ever had has been good quality and that the Strix at least offers a 19% speed increase over the stock 3090 with potential for a little more by switching up to 480W.

It was never going to be good value for money, but then again neither is the two grand that a work colleague has just spent on a fancy carbon framed road bike (read: posh bicycle).

I based my decision on previous experience with Gigabyte Aorus products. My current system board is an Aorus X470 and I’ve got an Aorus GTX1080TI at the moment and never had a single problem with either.

Add to that the fact that IMO it’s one of the better quality, better looking and now according to the website better specced cards, I’m hoping it will be a solid decision.

I’m sure it will be a very solid card and I think I read that it had a massive heatsink on a 4 slot card so the temperatures will be probably be amongst the lowest as well.

I’m going to be ok with the TUF card - yes it only has two power pins but it’s not slow and I don’t want to Cain my 850 watt power supply even if it’s a titanium model. Just to add I’m not going to be updating the spreadsheet anymore with the news of an official list next week from OC so you can use what I did to eyeball your rough position if you’re not on it already.

aye, appreciate the effort anyway buddy

Probably the wrong place to post but question that someone may no the answer to. I have a pre-order in for a Strix OC - However when I placed it I used the wrong payment option (paypal issues, don't ask). Does anyone know if I can change my payment options with OC instead of cancelling and losing my position in the queue and re-ordering?

Many Thanks

Payment is taken when you place your order. If your payment doesn't go through, the order isn't confirmed and you don't get a spot in the queue (AFAIK). I'd say check your orders page to see if you still have an open order to begin with:

Hi, thanks for this. Already seen on my order page it has gone through. It is just going to take it out of my current account linked to paypal instead of the card.

As its going to be a while until stock comes in and my order ever shippped I would like to change that to card if possible but no major drama if not.

Thanks again for your response.

Going to be quite down the list I think. Strix OC as well
Had website issues on checkout and then even though I had forewarned my bank they still blocked it and I had to call up OC after going through the anti fraud with the bank. Ended up with 4 orders on my account with the checkout issues the first at 13:57, then 14:01, then 14:13. The only one that actually went through after calling OC was more like 3pm and it has the highest of the 4 OC order numbers. Its date says 23 Sep 15:28... :-). Assuming its not ordered by incorrect dates its about 3pm on 24th

The payment should have already gone through then. Regardless, I'd say get in touch with support. They should be able to sort you out if it isn't too late.
