Imagine if they could tell you what number you are in the preorder queue and when to expect delivery. Would be future proof and wpuld be peace of mind
That’s what should happen, you should have waiting list number and when a delivery comes in it should be published what numbers on the list it will satisfy.

there’s no reason why that can’t be shared.....and by not sharing even where you are in the queue, it only leads to people feeling like there’s no transparency and something underhand is going on.

Their not gonna do that because most would see how far down the queue they are and get a refund and buy somewhere else, this is clearly the best way to sell the most cards don’t you think,I usually use scan and they’ve been quite good in that there’s none for sale on their site unless they can guarantee stock then a limited number go up,their very open about what they do at scan, they’d never make you preorder and not let you know how long

I spoke to them at the weekend and they told me they would by the end of the week. Whatever events unfold is another story. I agree; peace of mind would be great right about now. Hopefully I get mine before valhalla releases, I do a lot of video editing, recording etc. Some other projects are now on hold/pushed back too

Aside from almost everywhere just stating out of stock/coming soon, there is one etailer who lists a single brand (Zotac) of their 3090 line up as pre-order, with 8 due in 34 days time... a lot more specific than the "nothing" here at OC, but that kind of gives you an idea that quantities are drastically low at the moment. If they are getting 8, how many other companies are getting < 20 too.

I really do wonder how OC are going to manage the sheer volume of pre-orders they likely have by now, being one of the few etailers "taking orders" regardless of even knowing anything about stock, it seems. Most others just have "notify of stock" or "coming soon" messages without the ability to pay for it.

Would be interesting to see In 6 months time, how many of those actually converted to fulfilled orders versus cancelled because elsewhere got a handful in stock.

So instead of being able to secure a card as and when they're available you have to be at the computer every time they put stock up and play another game of "who can hit F5 at just the right moment"?
That sounds awful to me

The grass is no greener over here. Funds have left your account and for all you or I know, we could be at the end of a long line 20,000 strong, waiting until 2021 for stock to trickle in :D
Meanwhile, elsewhere people press F5 a lot and might get one in 2020 (or not lol)
Here, its a case of refreshing the forum waiting for somebody to post 10 of x are coming next week, maybe and still none the wiser.

I’m a 3080 cancellation, knee jerked into a 3090 Purchase after the capacitor noise started brewing

I ordered a Asus 3090 TUF OC On 25 Sep at 00:07:00, order number OC4048931, in the hope that it would be in less demand than the strix and thus more likely to get a card before November!

At least ebay/etc have woken up to the madness 'in hand' cards only going for 200 quid above RRP so minus the fees a waste of time.

As for when our 3090s turn up? Who cares it'll take us from like 100fps to more? Yea yea 4k etc I can barely read the percentage sign on my lager can..:)
