Are we sure its ahead of the Gigabyte Aorus xtreme in that regards? Details on that card are few and far between?

Too early so say. Take the MSI. They used three power pins, upgraded the power chokes on the card to 14 phases at 50 amps each but then locked the bios down to 370w and the power slider down to 103%. There are cards with only two 8 pin supplies which give as much power to the card.

Asus turned up the dial to 11 with their 480W. I think EVGA have gone with 440W with their bios on the FTW3 Ultra card.

Since this is Gigabytes flagship I expect them to be up there with EVGA and Asus.

From a hint on here i ordered a msi 3090 last night and it will be delivered tomorrow:D
Not even a pc specialist retailer:eek::eek:.

10% cheaper as well:confused:

If we are talking about the same retailer, I believe they totally oversold. I placed an order on the off chance too but will believe it when I see it. That same retailer oversold the Apple watch 6 too

There system is normally quite good though and they only sell until sold out. At some point last night it went to "out of stock".

Tomorrow we will all know anyway.

Having three 8-pins does not mean more power, just means it will be more stable. Two 8-pins would suffice :)

Yes, there is added stability, but that's not the whole story, or the whole point of the three power connectors. Three 8-pins on the ROG Strix 3090 allow a power limit of 480w. The highest power available on the two-8-pin cards is 385w, and you don't ideally want to be bumping your head on that constantly if you want stable frame times.

And if you read the TechPowerUp analysis, the higher power availability along with 22 power stages in an incredibly robust VRM does give you higher clocks and higher frame rates. Whether the three 8-pin connectors on other cards are as meaningful as they are on the Strix is not yet known, but what is known is that in the case of that card it provides far more than just stability.

Overclocking on two-8-pin models always hits the power limit before making any substantial gains according to all of the OC tests so far.

Incidentally, my broadband is being upgraded today to 1,104Mbps. Which is nice. ;)

Barring cases where a retailer has stock and no queued order there is no way retailer can give a reasonably accurate estimates as to when cards might arrive cause they won't know how many they will receive with each order.

Mine has gone through and I've received the order confirmation.

I'm not 100 percent sure I want or need it so may just sell to a forum member.

Yeah I currently now have four 3090s on order. Was going to cancel the other 3 as soon as the first one arrives but might just pass them on at cost.

The 3090 went to "out of stock" early this morning. I saw it still available to order at 6am.

I can only imagine!

I was half temped to get the MSI last night but resisted.. I am keeping an eye on the lesser known IT companies too for stock.
I just want to game on my LG CX with something like Tomb Raider.
