Anyone not going to upgrade their GPU this year, come what may?

Obviously, people with RTX 2080 TIs will be thinking twice about an upgrade. According to Steam, that's less than 1% of gamers.

Anyone else though?

If so, are you waiting for GPUs released next year?

There were a few on here that were buying the 2080Ti for RT. Ampere appears to do what Turing promised in this area.

It depends on what AMD show. I've already pretty much ruled out Ampere. Either way, I'll probably be waiting until next year when custom cards are out, stock is plentiful and launch gouging is over.

I can’t wait until next year, well overdue a new build.... I’ll be waiting until November I reckon to see what’s available and hopefully get something then. Don’t really want to wait longer but I guess I will if I have to.

For some people, it will be out of their hands due to stock shortage and queuing.

At least the 3080 launch can teach some a lesson, such as limiting one card per person but there must be way more to it to have the situation unfold that we seen a couple of weeks ago.

You can probably get a 3070 unless its not an upgrade for you.

As a 2080 ti owner (EVGA XC under water cooling), I've ordered a 3090 Asus Strix OC... So, yea, new series, new upgrade.

i have no games yet apart from MS FS 2020 that needs a more powerful GPU then my 2080ti at my monitor 3440x1440
Be pointless spending loads of money on buying a new GPU for just a single game, So am holding on for now..

If i bought a 3080/3090 now i think it would be more just because it a shiny new toy and not because i need it ;)

I was almost set on a 3080 but couldn’t get one in stock from the spicy place. I’m actually OK with that as I don’t really need it and suspect that my 2070 Super at 1440p UW will even do fine in Cyberpunk. I do plan on a Zen 3 and 3080 upgrade next year though once 3080 stock is actually available and I’ve seen the Zen 3 stats.

I game at ultrawide, almost all games I play are not hitting fps cap, so I'm looking forward to having much smoother gameplay above 100fps.

I've pre-ordered a 3070 but I'm 1300 in the queue. I'm not bothered about waiting till next year and possibly changing my mind on what I get if anything at all. My 1070 serves my needs fairly well at the moment.

My 2070s is doing me fine, I was going to get the 3080 but I'm not touching that clown show. Waiting on navi and the dust to settle. So probably 2021.

The gains of the 3080 over the 2080ti were impressive in VR. They've not covered the 3090 yet in comparison to the 2080ti, but id expect more. If they're as good then it's still a 3090 for me when there's stock available.

I've been furloughed for the last 6 months so I'm a bit skint. My 5700XT copes well at 1440p so I'll wait and see how it all pans out.
