What's a good price for a 2080S/TI now used?

I have been running my current system for over 5 years now and its tired, very tired. Also lucky enough to have a Xbox Series X on order for day 1 release so upgrading my office monitor to a HDMI 2.1 4K OLED TV. My GTX 980/AMD Fx-6300 *just about* runs games at half decent FPS on my 2560x1440 144hz monitor. I also have a 3080 MSi Gaming X Trio on Preorder from Overclockers but I'm quite far down the list so looking at mid-late December earliest as it stands (Got caught up in all the hype & didn't realise how mad it would end up being)

Question is what would do me in up until then in my new Build for 4K gaming/editing/general work station and what would a good price be? Say a 2080 Super or 2080 Ti used for under £600? Is this realistic? I'm more into Games looking great but playing smoothly as opposed to mega high FPS competitive gaming. Just want it all set up for Cyberpunks release on PC and the Series X release too.

New Build;
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, 32GB 3200Mhz RAM, 500GB SSD, 1TB NVME SSD, 4TB HDD, 1000W PSU etc etc.

All help and suggestions appreciated.

Personally of you haven't bought the build already I'd be waiting for zen 3 5800x and pair with your current 980 until you receive the 3080. Use the series X for a couple weeks.

2080s I wouldn't pay more more than £300 for, 2080ti £400-450. Used and abused cards with no warranty that'll further drop in price after rdna2 and the 3070/3060ti are here.

I wouldn't pay a penny more than the MSRP of the 3070. If the performance is as they say the 3070 will be on par and will also be new and warrantied. See what the availability is like and if you can get a 3070 instead. You never know buying used, it's total pot luck over the internet with strangers.

Have you bought this yet? There are new Ryzen CPUs being announced next week and released shortly afterwards.

Yeah I've been buying the bits for it since March, unfortunately the CPU was the first thing I bought back in March so is way too late to return now. Although its completely sealed still. Got lucky with the GPU as I couldn't make my mind up then the 3000 series were announced. Also just need a 360mm AIO and 6 120mm Fans for intake and exhaust.

Sound advice.

I also recently finished a new 3440x1440 system and have a 1080 that really struggles with most new games. Been waiting for 3000 series and then this s*** show arrives. I'm just going to wait for the 3080 to turn up and might try to pick up a 6900xt if they turn out to be decent and actually exist in hardware form.

It's not a great time to be buying a GPU atm. Can't get 3000's, 2000's are generally still priced quite high but will no doubt plummet again when 3000 stock starts to come in and Big Navi is announced at the end of this month. Also selling the 2000 after on ebay is risky. So many stories of people being screwed over by the buyer.

If you can be patient for 3 or 4 weeks you'll probably save a decent amount of pennies but if you really need it for editing work and you'll get the money back that way then it might be worth it.
