OC will cancel this. One card per customer brah.I have two on order, gigabyte eagle with a position of 731 and palit gaming oc with a position of 61. I think its safe to assume one can be cancelled, right? Even if palit may or may not be sending out less than gigabyte.
Oh no... Then I hope it's a rather big shipment...

Question, how much my old rusty i7 6700k OCd to 4.4 ghz will bottleneck rtx 3080? I dont feel like upgrading my cpu right now. Will I get like 85% of true rtx 3080 performance? Also because nvidia does not produce dvi inputs on their cards my 2nd 144hz monitor will have to be connected through hdmi or dp which means that I wont get more than 60hz, 2nd monitor is 1080p only, I have read that rtx 3080 is not doing too well in 1080p, will I even get 60 fps I will be restricted by cable on my oldie? Thanks
First time poster and first time builder here, please be patient with me!
I've got a non-OC Strix order in at 340 in queue, which is pretty much the last thing I was waiting on to finish my new computer (except a drive or two and an OS); the dying laptop it replaces apparently runs on a GTX 1050.
I am starting to think it might be more desirable (as the laptop is deteriorating and has been in for repair three times now) to cancel this, as Strix 3080s in general don't seem to be in a hurry, get something like a 2070 SUPER, then next year when the queues and competition starts to clear out on the 3080 / Big Navi equivalent, look at one of these nice new cards then?
I would assume if my games run well enough on a GTX 1050, then a 2070 SUPER in a desktop with a substantially better CPU and more memory would be noticeably better performing either way.
(Not to derail too much, but also if a 2070 SUPER would be worthwhile, any recommendations which one from OCUK I should pick?)
What monitor are you using? Is it 1080p? 1440p? 4k?60hz? 144hz?
All depends on what monitor you are using. If playing at 1080p a 2070 super is more than overkill probably. But whatever you do, if you buy a non 3000 series card right now, definitely buy second hand otherwise you will regret it.

My iiyama pro lite gb2773hs will only support 144hz through dual active dvi cable or something. It defaults to 60hz when I connect it through hdmi. Converter costs like £ 100 - £ 120 pounds so too expensive. I need new monitor but it needs to be 27 inch at least and these are outside my price range, after dropping £ 700 on a new GPU and £ 450 for ps5 I am skinned till next year. Not sure where you get the information from, but Display port 1.4 will do 4K at 120Hz, and 10 colour HDMI 2.1 will give 4K at 120Hz and 8K at 60 Hz with a maximum of 10K possible. Dvi went out years ago, superceded by dual dvi which has also been obsolete for some time. Maybe time to sell the old monitor and buy a newer one?
Thank you ! I can live with 10% at 1440p. I have ultra wide so I am guessing bottleneck will be between 5 and 10%. I really need to upgrade 2nd monitor.About 20% bottleneck at 1080p, less than 10% at 1440p, and about 5% at 4K.
I would air on the side of caution to build for today 100% as you will never not upgrade your monitor. You should be looking at least 30% to the future. What I mean is if you buy a 2070 Super (which is a mighty fine GPU- but the 3070 will be a lot better and cheaper so your 3080 will be mega) and then upgrade your monitor to an IPS 1440 144hz + later, you may find your not getting the most from it visually or FPS from hardware.
I would try to hold your nerve and stick to your 3080 from OcUK as I am confident that stock is going to emerge (and this picture will build in the next week or 2).

Yes my order for the eagle was at 15:16 and im 332 so dont worry its correct. Ive seen a bunch of other people between mine and yours with time orders between ours
How often OCUK sends emails with queue position? Is it once a week or something?
