*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

100% agreed. 1 card it's up to you, getting 2+ and THEN scalping would be the cause of the drama.
Problem is Dave, it is a problem. I can guarantee he has an order with the other place as well. This means the queue is much higher than it should be, and there are quite a lot of people who have done this.
I think OCUK should be in communication with the other place about double orders and equally split the orders of those people.
Probably can't be done due to data protection, but would be a good idea.

I also don't like these types of people, but they are entitled to do with their GPU whatever they want. BTW why would you bother in selling your card for £30 o 50£ above the price? is not like he is selling thousands of them. OCUK can't ban him or stop him from getting the card unless they have such restrictions in their tos.

I really dislike these types of peeps too ..worse ones where the scalpers over medical equipment and other products related to the whole pandemic ..that's just wrong on so many levels ...

And i kind of agree partially on that its there goods and can do what they wish with them ...but it still not right is it..

there is fair business and then there is taking the **** ..and what makes this even worse they do not even have the card in hand..so really that stinks ..

you can tell that there intention from the get go was to scalp that's the problem i have with them.

The guy literally said he doesn't have any other 3080's to compare it to, can't really blame him.

Fully agree with this, its really not worth the extra and I say this as someone who has a non-OC Strix on pre-order but don't want to cancel because I want to get my new build all together, up and running as soon as possible but still no release info on the non-OC variant.... if 3080's are in regular supply and I don't received the non-OC then I'll just cancel and grab whatever is in stock.

At this point we still have no info on the release of the OC version either! no one is saying anything, but doesn't look like they're shipping out at all!

The strix oc was was meant to cost £800-£830 but due to the stock situation retailers have hiked the price up.

If your a overclocker and someone enjoys maximizing what performance that's available the 450 W power limit is a godsend
This year the tuf and strix series or angled at different types of customers

ive been scrolling through this forum and just gonna straight up ask in hope of some answer, basically wondering if pre ordering now for asus tuf oc is worth it, or if it will take till next year jan to get it. ive seen queue post for asus tuf non oc as high as 1.1k but not seen anything bout the oc version, or atleast nothing after the launch day

That depends on your financial situation. If you have disposable income, then pre-order one. Your only other option is to browse sites and try to get lucky. There are folks who barely get any sleep doing this, so you need a lot if luck right now if you managed to bag one.

Not worth preordering now. You're not going to get one anytime soon and it will tie up your funds while you wait. Better to see how things develop and of course see what AMD is going to offer later this month.

Not sure if anyone is even bothered or interested but I placed my order for the Asus 3080 Strix OC at 15:24 on the 17th. On Friday I received an email from OCUK with my number and I am queue position 177... which is actually better than I thought it would be.

I don't blame him just pointing out that every single person who review the strix do not mention it's performance compared to any other 3080 I find it suspicious

Hi! My order queue number is 1922 for ASUS TUF RTX 3080 I placed the order on 1st October! How long I will need to wait to get my card delivered?
Thanks!

i guess there no real choice in the matter, ill have to give it bit of time and see if anything changes or bite the bullet and pre order and just hibernate till Jan...i wished i knew how much cards were being stocked each batch, atleast that give us an idea of how long the queue would actually be

No one knows exactly. However, if product shipping remains at the current rate, it certainly won't be this year.

This maybe very optimistic, but I think there will be a lot of work behind the scenes to try to cover a lot of orders this month. Nvidia will be very keen for this to happen before the AMD launch. I don't think they will be able to, but I'm hoping! If not, you have more options available.

Unless there are significant quantities in containers already at sea it isn't going to happen this month.

By the end of next month it is possible that there will be a lot more stock in channel but this month still feels too early to get all that hopeful.

Yeah, I think you're right, but got to have a bit of hope.
Nvidia should take one for the team and air drop on mass! They really dropped the ball on this one.

This is mandatory, here's a real scalper:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ujs3BSXnwxs

There's a whole industry in China where Chinese people in other countries exploit supply chains to scalp for the homeland.
You should see what they did to Australia's baby milk, they bought it all and mother's couldn't feed their babies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daigou

They will be held to justice.

Edit:
This version cuts out the parts where she gets a discount for (lying) telling them she works for charity.
It also cuts out the part where she brags about "not leaving a crumb for the Americans".

This video, she uploads to a chinese scalper forum, said she had to look up areas with low numbers of Chinese people as they are all comminting Daigou and have cleaned the masks out already.

This happens everywhere.

So, I cancelled my day one pre-order of my 3080. I needed the cash for house repairs. I've now got the money again. Where would people suggest I point my money towards, as in, which GPU to get it as early as possible? I know it'll be a while anyway but figured I'm better off asking first.
